The former Shizhong District Water Affairs Bureau was renamed as Shizhong District Water Resources and Fisheries Bureau on May 26th, 1999. In order to strengthen the comprehensive management of water-related affairs and promote the protection, development and utilization of water resources, it was renamed as Shizhong District Water Affairs Bureau on September 26th, 20001year, and the district government was in charge of water conservancy and fishery administration in the whole region. There are two sub-level units including office, soil and water conservation office, water conservancy office, immigration office, finance unit, agricultural water unit, water administration unit, aquatic station, river management office, service hall, drought relief service team, Jiangyuan water supply center, flood control and drought relief office and water comprehensive law enforcement office, with 42 cadres and workers.
