Where is Huludao?

Huludao City, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, is also called Zhengdao, formerly known as Jinxi. It is located in the southwest of northeast China and the west coast of Liaoning Province. It is a continental monsoon climate in the north temperate zone, with mountains and seas, and the terrain gradually decreases from northwest to southeast. It is adjacent to Jinzhou City in the east, Shanhaiguan District of Qinhuangdao City in the west, Bohai Bay in the south and Chaoyang City in the north, with a total area of 1.04 million square kilometers.

As of May 2023, the whole city has jurisdiction over 3 districts and 2 counties, and manages 1 county-level cities. By the end of 2022, the total population of the city was 2.703 million. On June 1989, the State Council approved the upgrading of Jinxi City to a prefecture-level city. Huludao City is a port city on the Bohai wing of Liaoning coastal economic belt, an important gateway to the northeast of China, and is known as the "first city outside the customs".

Together with other cities around the Bohai Sea, it has formed the Bohai Economic Circle. Huludao Port and Suizhong Port are the nearest seaports in Northeast China and East Inner Mongolia. The offshore waters are rich in seafood, and the western mountainous areas are rich in mineral resources, including molybdenum, zinc, gold and limestone.

There are rich natural and cultural landscapes in the territory, such as Ningyuan Ancient City, Jiumenkou Great Wall on the Water, Jieshi Qin and Han Ruins, etc. Huludao is an excellent tourist city, a national forest city and a national garden city in China. It is also the permanent host city of China International Swimwear Culture Expo and other activities, and once co-hosted the 12th National Games in People's Republic of China (PRC).
