Introduction of scenic spots
1. Memorial sites along Lu Xun Middle Road
A series of scenic spots eastward along Lu Xun Middle Road from Jiefang Road are mostly related to Lu Xun. Before the tour, I suggest that you review several famous works of Lu Xun, such as Kong Yiji and From Baicaoyuan to three pools mirroring the moon. Comparing with the descriptions written by Mr. Wang and the current situation of these places, the content of the tour can be enriched. Now it will be introduced roughly in the order from west to east.
At the intersection of Jiefang Road and Luxun Middle Road, there is a 3-square-meter Luxun Square, in which there is a bronze statue of Mr. Wang erected in 1991 on the 11th anniversary of Luxun's birth. To the west and north of the square, there is a river and a bridge, which is a quiet place. Opposite the square is Shaoxing antique market, which is very lively during the day.
a minute or two's walk from the square to the east leads to the Xianheng Hotel, which was built in 1981. Although it is not the original of Lu Xun, it still retains the style of an old restaurant and attracts many tourists. The word "Xianheng" comes from the Book of Changes Kun Gua: "The goods are Xianheng". "salty" means complete and all; "Heng" means prosperity. See the "Catering" section for the introduction of food and wine here.
Go on for a minute or two and you will reach Xinjian Road, which is a small street crossing Luxun Road in the north-south direction. There are light box advertisements for "Shaoyan Machine Guest House" and "Baicaoyuan Guest House" at the intersection. Two minutes' walk from the intersection to the north along Xinjian Road leads to Changqing Temple and Tugu Temple, which were once described by Lu Xun. These two places are not open as tourist spots. Changqing Temple on the left, commonly known as Banzhu Temple, was built in the Tang Dynasty. It used to be one of the eight major temples in Shaoxing, and now it is the place where the cultural station of Tashan Street is located. An old plaque of "Changqing Temple" with a red background and bronzing was hung at the mountain gate. When Lu Xun was a baby, he worshipped the temple monk Longzu as a teacher. The master named Lu Xun "Long Roots" and gave Lu Xun a piece of silver gossip of "Three Treasures North Son, Long Roots in Dharma" and hung it on Lu Xun's chest. On the right, facing Changqing Temple, is Tugu Temple, that is, the land temple, a small facade. At that time, there lived an unemployed man named Xie Agui in Tugu Temple, and later became the prototype of Ah Q, the protagonist of The True Story of Ah Q. Between Changqing Temple and Tugu Temple is a cross-street pavilion, and there were many plaques under the cornice of the pavilion.
A few steps further from the Tugu Temple in Changqing Temple, you can see a small river and an old street facing the river from east to west. The west is called Xixianhuan River and Xixianhuan River along the road, and the east is called Dongxianhuan River and Dongxianhuan River along the road. The river and street are relatively simple, which is very old Shaoxing, and it is worth walking. At No.19, East Xianhuan Riverside, there is the former site of Hengji Pawnshop, and there is a big word "pawn" at the door. Young Lu Xun often comes here to pawn things because of his family's decline. Today, the Hengji pawnshop is a residential building.
Go back to the intersection of Lu Xun Road and Xinjian Road, and continue eastward along Lu Xun Road for a few minutes, and you will arrive at the scenic spots of Lu Xun Memorial Hall. The scenic spots are distributed within a few hundred meters, including Lu Xun's former residence (including Baicao Garden) on the north side of the road, Lu Xun's life exhibition hall, Lu Xun's ancestral home and three pools mirroring the moon on the south side of the road. If you want to buy a package ticket for 15 yuan, let's go through the door and not enter.
[Taimen: Lu Xun's former residence (also known as Zhoujia Xintaimen) and Lu Xun's ancestral residence (also known as Zhoujia Laotaimen) are both Taimen buildings with Shaoxing characteristics in Qing Dynasty. As a kind of residential style, Taimen was widely used in Shaoxing in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The platform door is a kind of courtyard combination with regular plane and longitudinal expansion, which generally consists of a door bucket, a patio (also called a bright hall, which mainly plays the role of lighting), a hall (reception room), a building (living room) and a side room (auxiliary rooms such as kitchen and storage room).
The depth and width of the platform doors generally depend on the owner's social status, economic strength and population. Ordinary platform doors are mostly three, ranging from two to five, while the largest platform door in Shaoxing history has nine thirteen entrances. At present, Lvfu, a provincial key cultural preservation unit located in the northwest of the city (not open at present), is owned by Shangshu of the Ministry of Rites in the Ming Dynasty. It was originally a large-scale platform gate building, but at present, only the main hall "Yong En Hall" is still completely preserved. The new entrance of Zhoujia in Lu Xun's former residence is ***6, ranging from 7 to 9 for each entrance, and 4 for the old entrance of Zhoujia, which is also 7 to 9 for each entrance.
with the change of time and the transformation of the old city, a large number of podium buildings have gradually declined. At present, there are still well-preserved Tai Men in the Ming Dynasty in Shaoxing City, including Gaojiatai Men in Beihai Bridge Street, Hejiatai Men in Fushan Street and Xiejiatai Men in Yan 'an Road. In the Qing Dynasty, there were Dujiataimen, which went down the main road, and Zhoujia's new and old Taimen mentioned above. In some ancient towns in Shaoxing, such as Anchang, there are also some taimen buildings. ]
2. Historic sites along Jiefang Road
Jiefang Road is a main street running through Shaoxing city from north to south. There are still some ancient meanings between modern roads and buildings. It is introduced in the general order from north to south from the railway station. The tour is about half a day.
First, we pass a big square on the west side of Jiefang Road, which is a newly-built city square in recent years. On the north side of the square is the office building of Shaoxing Municipal People's Government. What is particularly striking is that this modern square stands an ancient tower. The name of the pagoda is Dashan Pagoda, which was built in Nanliang. According to legend, a woman surnamed Qian died unmarried, and her last words were to build a temple with dowry, which has a history of 15 years. Since then, it has been rebuilt, and the existing Dashan Pagoda was overhauled in 1957. The tower has six sides and seven floors of brick and wood structure, with a height of 4 meters. There used to be a wooden ladder in the tower, but it was burned down during the Xianfeng period of Qing Dynasty, and now there is only one hollow brick tower left. Visitors can walk into the tower, look up at the half-bright and half-dark, and experience the ancient meaning of dust in the downtown area. The elders in Shaoxing city also know that around the Dashan Pagoda, there used to be a temple called Dashan Temple. In the past, Dashan Temple was the most lively market in Shaoxing, and its status was equivalent to the Chenghuang Temple in Shanghai and Guanqian Street in Suzhou. Dashan Temple no longer exists.
fushan stands on the west side of the city square, because Shaoxing county, prefecture and prefecture were all located at the east foot of this mountain, hence the name fushan. Because it looks like Wolong, it is also called Wolong Mountain. In the Spring and Autumn Period, when Gou Jian, the king of Yue, who was working hard, appointed Fan Li to build the capital here, the rest of the capital was surrounded by walls, but there was no wall in Fushan, the northwest corner. According to folklore, the missing corner of the wall was to paralyze Fu Cha, the king of Wu, to show the meaning of undefended; In fact, Fushan is a natural barrier. Fan Li built a flying wing building on the top of the mountain (now the location of Wanghai Pavilion), where he can climb the mountain and observe the movement of Wu forces at any time. Fushan has now been set as a park, and there is Yuewangtai in the south, also known as Yueguo Site (ticket 1 yuan), which was bombed by Japanese planes during the Anti-Japanese War and rebuilt in 1981. Because this is a trip without tickets, just look at Fushan from the direction of the city square.
On the north side of the city square, an east-west street intersects Jiefang Road, which is Shengli Road. Go west along Shengli Road for about ten minutes, and you can reach the former site of Datong School. I won't go in because of the ticket to 1 yuan. You can buy some books about Shaoxing's humanities and history at the ticket office of Datong School.
Go back to Jiefang Road, continue southbound from the city square, continue southbound, and you will pass the Qiu Jin Monument in the center of Shengli Road in Xuantingkou. Qiu Jin (1875-197), a Jianhu woman, was born in a rich family in Shaoxing. She liked poetry riding and shooting since she was a child. In 194, she left home to study in Japan, and participated in the Guangfu Association and the League Association successively. At that time, she wrote a famous sentence, "I don't hesitate to buy a treasure knife, but the mink and fur can be as luxurious as wine". In 197, he presided over the work in Shaoxing Datong School, and organized the Guangfu Army to prepare for an uprising. He was accidentally exposed and arrested. In prison, Qiu Jin insisted on confessing, and only wrote "autumn rain kills people" on the confession paper, and there was nothing else to say. In 197, Qiu Jin was beheaded by the Qing court, and the execution ground followed the example of the Xuantingkou next to this monument. In 1933, this monument was erected in Qiu Jin. The monument is seven meters high, and the west of the monument is engraved with the "Autumn Martyrs Monument" written by Cai Yuanpei and written by Yu Youren.
further south is Lu Xun Square at the intersection of Lu Xun Middle Road, which has been introduced in the section "Lu Xun Memorial Site around Lu Xun Middle Road".
Continue southbound from Luxun intersection, and you can reach Tashan Park (ticket 2 yuan). Among the scenic spots that collect tickets in Shaoxing, this place should be the most cost-effective, because Yingtian Tower at the top of the mountain is a better position overlooking Shaoxing city.
3. Several ancient bridges in the urban area
Shaoxing is known as a bridge town and a bridge capital. According to the survey in the 199s, there are more than 6, bridges in Shaoxing County and Yuecheng District, including more than 5, stone bridges, 3 of which were built before the Song Dynasty, 41 in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, and 553 in the Qing Dynasty. Here, we introduce several ancient stone bridges with characteristics in the urban area.
figure-of-eight bridge. Located at the east end of the straight street of Baziqiao in the east of the city, it is close to the East Bus Station. This bridge is famous in Shaoxing, so it is easy to ask for directions and find it. The eight-character bridge is famous because it was built in Baoyou four years in the Southern Song Dynasty (1256) for a long time. Although it has been rebuilt many times since then, it is still an organizational system in the Song Dynasty. Secondly, it is an overpass Liang Shi bridge because of its unique shape. The east pier street of the bridge has two steps, south and north. According to the street conditions, the west pier of the bridge has two steps, namely, west pier and south pier. This shape is integrated with the environment, which is very practical. The figure-of-eight bridge is also named after the shape of the "eight". The streets along the river in the area of Baziqiao are very watery.
Guangxiang Bridge. This semi-circular stone arch ancient bridge is beside the national highway in the north of Shaoxing, about ten meters north of Yuewang Bridge (a highway bridge on the north line of National Highway 14). If you pass by here by bus in the direction of Ke Qiao, you can pay attention to it. This bridge was built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which is older than the figure-of-eight bridge. The bridge was named after the Guangxiang Temple. Due to the smoothness of the highway bridge, few people walk now, and the bridge deck is overgrown with weeds, which is still ancient in comparison with the busy highway bridge.
xiegong bridge. From Guangxiang Bridge to the south, walk along Nishikoji for a few minutes to the mouth of Xinhe Lane. On the left hand side, there is a stone arch bridge named Xiegong Bridge, named after Xie Lingyun. This single-hole heptagonal arch-folding stone bridge was built in the late Jin Dynasty during the Five Dynasties, and it is still well preserved, and local residents often come and go. Xiegong Bridge is surrounded by the old city of Shaoxing, and on the east side is the national key cultural protection unit, the first Lvfu of Mingshangshu (not open). Standing on the bridge of Xiegong Bridge and looking around, you can feel the taste of Shaoxing, the old water city.
4. Gujianhu and Mazhen's Tomb
Out of the side gate in the west of Shaoxing, it is less than one kilometer west along the highway, and there is a cement bridge on the left-hand side called the bridge across the lake. The bridge across the lake is only 3 meters wide, and the east-west direction of the waterway it crosses looks like an ordinary river. In fact, it is the relic of the ancient Jianhu Lake-the bridge across the lake is named after it. You can reach Mataishou Temple and Mazhen Tomb by crossing the lake bridge. Jianhu and Ma Zhen are like Dujiangyan and Li Bing. Going to Shaoxing without visiting Jianhu is like going to Chengdu without visiting Dujiangyan. Due to the lack of tourism development and promotion, there are few tourists here at ordinary times, but it is a scenic spot with rich cultural heritage. There is no ticket charge.
Jianhu Lake is an ancient water conservancy project in Enze Shaoxing with a history of more than 1,8 years. Before Jianhu Lake was built, the Shanhui Plain in the north of Shaoxing was low-lying and could not be discharged smoothly in case of mountain torrents and seawater intrusion, and there were swamps everywhere. In the fifth year of Yonghe in the Eastern Han Dynasty (14), Ma Zhen, the prefect of Huiji, presided over the construction of Jianhu Lake embankment, which opened from Fucheng to the east and west wings to intercept 36 streams from Huiji Mountain, forming Jianhu Lake with an area of about 2 square kilometers. From then on, the flash floods in Huiji Mountain could no longer overflow, but were confined in the reservoir. The lake embankment is equipped with gates, weirs and buckets, which are drained into the sea in rainy season and irrigated in dry season. Since then, the plain in the lower reaches of Jianhu Lake has no longer suffered from severe drought and waterlogging, and has gradually become a land of plenty.
Jianhu, which resembles a river under the bridge across the lake, is only the remaining part of the ancient Jianhu. In the Song Dynasty, especially in the Southern Song Dynasty, due to the small population and land in Shaoxing, rich people and farmers began to build land around the lake, which greatly reduced the area of Jianhu Lake.
Walking about 1 meters across the house, you can reach Mataishou Temple, and the plaque reads "On Shanyin Road"-Shaoxing has Shanyin County and Huiji County from the Southern Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, and its administrative offices are all in Shaoxing City-this place belongs to the boundary of Shanyin County. Ma Taishou Temple is a temple built and maintained spontaneously by the people to commemorate Ma Zhen, the Taishou of the Eastern Han Dynasty who built the Jianhu Project. At that time, a water conservancy project as big as Jianhu was controversial when it was built. The main contradiction was that Jianhu flooded a large area of land south of the lake embankment, which damaged some people's existing interests. After the lake embankment was completed, an anonymous paper was handed over to Beijing, telling Ma Taishou to build the ancestral graves of Jianhu flooded fields, exaggerating the disadvantages of the project. The emperor listened to it and sent Ma Zhen to Beijing to be punished for car cracking. The people had a steelyard in their hearts and stole the dismembered body of Ma Taishou back to Huiji for burial. The court soon woke up and rehabilitated Ma Zhen.
The main hall of Mataishou Temple is dedicated to Ma Zhen, his wife and children, accompanied by local gods such as Emperor Dongyue and Land Lord. In Mataishou Temple, there are three things that deserve special attention. The first is the murals on both sides of the main hall, which are old things hundreds of years ago. In the form of comic books, it introduces the story of Ma Zhen from studying at an early age to building Jianhu to splitting his car and dying. The second is the ancient stage facing the idol, named "Wanniantai", which is exquisite in shape and sculpture and well preserved. On holidays, local operas are often performed on the stage. The third is the tomb of Ma Zhen on the west side outside the south gate of Taishou Temple. The tomb workshop reads "Tomb of King Liji", and King Liji is the name of Ma Zhen conferred by Emperor Taizong. Mataishou Temple is now managed spontaneously by several villagers in the nearby village.
5. Boat Trackers's Road and Taiping Bridge
It is recommended to hire a boat from Anchang to watch these two scenic spots from the water. But hiring a boat is expensive and buses are cheap, so we will also introduce land transportation.
You can take the No.5 bus from Shaoxing City to Ruanshi, the terminal, and then walk to the west for a few minutes to reach Taiping Bridge, and Boat Trackers's Road is on the east and west wings of the south bank of Taiping Bridge. You can also take the bus from Qian Qing to Taiping Bridge at the North Bus Station. If you take the regular shuttle bus between Hangzhou and Shaoxing (take the national highway instead of the expressway), you will also pass here. There are no tickets for these two scenic spots.
If you have limited time, the easiest way to see Boat Trackers's Road is to take the shuttle bus. You can see the scenery of Boat Trackers's Road on the road several kilometers east and west of Ruanshe.
If you have enough time and interest, you can start from Taiping Bridge and walk along the fiber road to the west. Boat Trackers's Road can reach Qianqing Town near Xiaoshan City intermittently. Of course, due to the disrepair of some sections, walking is not easy.
Taiping Bridge is a multi-span stone arch bridge across the Xiaoshao Canal from north to south. The bridge was built in 1622, the second year of the apocalypse of the Ming Dynasty, and has been rebuilt many times since then. At present, it is still a passage for villagers to walk. From the south bank to the north bank, there is a stone arch with a clear span of 1 meters in turn, and an 8-hole Liang Shi bridge deck that is gradually lowered. This kind of modeling is adapted to local conditions and has a wide transportation.
