How to make bamboo flute?

The making method of bamboo flute is as follows:

1, put the bamboo through the inner section and try to smooth the outer section. If the bamboo skin is rough and unsightly, you can also scrape off a thin layer.

2. Measure the size and set the tone. After finishing the bamboo material, measure the inner diameter and length, and decide what tune to use as the most suitable flute according to its thickness and length.

3. adjust and dig. This is the most important and difficult step in the whole flute making process. The whole flute is often scrapped because a hole is not qualified (pronunciation is not accurate).

4. When digging a hole, first dig the blowhole (don't dig too big), plug the flute plug (bamboo joint can also be used as the flute plug), then measure the distance from the blowhole to the rear sound hole, and dig two rear sound holes. Dig a little at first, then blow and listen to see if the sound inside is accurate. If it is lower, dig both holes forward (to the blowhole), or don't dig any more. Special attention should be paid to the fact that when starting to dig a hole, it should not exceed the specified size, in case the sound hole is too high to make up.

5. After digging the sound hole, based on this hole, dig holes in turn in the direction of blowing hole according to the size ratio. The method of digging is to dig a small point first, and expand it while auditioning. Dig a hole, dig another hole, and finally dig a film hole. Excess bamboo can be sawed off at both ends first or again. If the bamboo at the end of the flute is long, you can open two front sound holes (also called tuning holes), or cut the end of the flute short to replace the front sound holes.
