Do people in Shenzhen speak Cantonese?

The fallacy of "Hakka Shenzhen" often appears. We don't rule out that some people don't know about Shenzhen (Bao 'an County), but it's more because some people have ulterior motives and want to achieve "a lie repeated a hundred times is the truth" and dye Shenzhen, where Guangfu Hakka people live together, into a Hakka!

The truth is that Baoan County in history (including Hongkong) belonged to guangzhou fu, and it was ruled by nantou town (now Nanshan District) until 1950s. Nantou town residents in Bao 'an County all speak Cantonese, while the aborigines in Bao 'an County (including Hong Kong) speak Cantonese. Since ancient times, Guangfu vernacular has been the mainstream language in Baoan County. Before 1957, Guangfu people in Baoan county accounted for the vast majority of residents. But now the main settlement of Hakka people-Longgang District-still belongs to Huiyang County in the 1950s, not Baoan County. Guanlan Town, another Hakka settlement, is also under the jurisdiction of Dongguan. Hakkas moved from Xingmei and Guishan to their present settlements during the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty.

Excluding 1979 new immigrants after the establishment of Shenzhen, there are about 300,000 aborigines in Shenzhen (Baoan County), and the distribution of Hakka and Guangfu people is as follows:

1、

Shenzhen Town (Baoan County Hou 1957, with 30,000 residents, mainly Cantonese, and about 2,000 Hakkas).

2、

Fucheng Commune (about 1.5 million, Cantonese population 1.4 million, including Hubei, Huang Beiling, Xiangxi, Tianbei, Luohu, Yumin Village, Caiwuwei, Nantang, Sungang, Shangbu, Futian, Chiwei, Nigang and Shuiku New Village). Except for the Hakka population of Reservoir New Village, about 65,438+0,000 people speak Hakka dialect, the residents of Fishermen Village are the settled villages of marine fishermen after liberation, but the vernacular is the main language, and the rest villages are Cantonese Weitou Village).

3、

Shatou Commune (about 1. 1 10,000 people, Gangxia, Shuiwei, Huanggang, Xiashang Meilin, Puwei, Agriculture and Fisheries, Shazui, Shangsha and Xiasha). About 800 people speak Cantonese, except Shanghai Meilin who speaks Hakka.

The above data are the distribution of Shenzhen's indigenous residents before 1979. The population of Cantonese is slightly higher than 150000, that of Hakka is slightly lower than 150000, and that of other languages is lower than 150000. Shenzhen Town, Fucheng Commune and Shatou Commune are now Futian and Luohu Districts in downtown Shenzhen, and the population of Cantonese dialect accounts for the vast majority.
