How to upgrade the certificate of C-class sailors on duty?

Sailors on duty need to be trained with four certificates and certificates of competency. After passing the theoretical examination and assessment, you can get an internship certificate and exchange it for a competency certificate.

Sailors on duty are divided into class B (ocean), class C (C- 1, C-2) and class D according to the different grades of navigation areas. Among them, the seafarers on board are mainly class B and C- 1. Class B seafarers on duty are the highest-ranking seafarers who can run ocean-going routes, class C seafarers mainly run coastal routes, and class C seafarers serve the port area and ships under 500 gross tons.

In terms of training and assessment, the biggest difference between C-class watchman and B-class watchman is that B-class has an English theory and listening conversation besides sailor business and assessment. C-class sailors need to expand the navigation area and obtain B-class sailor's competency certificate through internship. After six months of sea-going experience, they only need to attend one English and listening class, and after passing the examination, they can apply to the Maritime Safety Administration for a B-class seaman's certificate of competency.
