Shuitu Town has a long history. Because Jialing River flows through water and soil to form backwater tuo, it is called water and soil tuo in ancient times. Tankou archway, located in Dida Village, was built in the 13th year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty (1887). Now it has become a key cultural relics protection unit in Chongqing, known as "the first archway in eastern Sichuan" and an important scenic spot on the Beijin tourist line.
