How to join the Antarctic scientific expedition team?

The State Oceanic Administration will recruit members of the Antarctic scientific expedition team, just sign up directly.

Pre-selection conditions for the Antarctic scientific expedition team:

(1) Chinese citizens.

(2) Have good conduct.

(3) Physical examination confirmed by a specialized medical institution of level 3 or above approved by the health administrative department, that the applicant is physically healthy and capable of working in special environments in polar regions. There are no organic diseases of any kind; no serious chronic diseases of any kind; and no infectious diseases. Mentally healthy, with good self-regulation and self-control abilities.

(5) Registration must be approved by the employer. The unit where you work can handle relevant foreign affairs procedures such as official passports and ordinary official passports.

Antarctic scientific expedition team itinerary:

On May 7, 2021, the "Snow Dragon 2" ship returned to the Shanghai domestic base dock, marking the successful completion of China's 37th Antarctic expedition. This expedition is the first time that the "Snow Dragon 2" ship has carried out a single-ship expedition around the Antarctic.

The expedition team set off on November 10, 2020. It lasted 179 days and traveled more than 36,000 nautical miles.
