Brief introduction of Shaxi ancient town

Shaxi Street, a thousand-year-old town, has always been a border farmer's market between Shangrao, Yushan and Guangfeng counties and Jiangxi and Zhejiang provinces, and is known as "Raodong Ancient Town". Shops appeared in the Tang Wude period and became more prosperous in the Song Dynasty. Xu Xiake, a great traveler, once described Shaxi in Twilight in Youjiang Diary as "the market is very prosperous, there are more than 100 boats under the river, and the sound of water is endless". Businessmen gathered in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Shaxi town is located at the east gate of Shangrao City, adjacent to Fujian and Zhejiang provinces, bordering Xinjiang Waterway in the east, crossing zhejiang-jiangxi railway, National Highway 320 and Liwen expressway in the north and south, about 20 kilometers away from Shangrao City. The territory is high in the northwest, low in mountains and hills, low in east and west, and close to Xinjiang, such as alluvial plains of river valleys, with a total area of 75.39 square kilometers, north-south length 13.5 kilometers and east-west width 12 kilometers.

The territory has a humid and mild climate with four distinct seasons and abundant rainfall. The annual rainfall is about 65,438+0,600-2,000mm, and there are three large and small rivers in the territory. The main stream of Xinjiang flows through the east and winds through the town from north to south, with an average flow of 78.6 cubic meters per second and a theoretical storage capacity of 83,300 kilowatts.
