Who has the introduction of Wuhan blood center?

Wuhan Blood Center, established in 1952, is one of the earliest blood collection and supply institutions in China. It is called Wuhan Central Blood Bank and Wuhan Central Blood Station. Since September 2000, it has been used as a public welfare health institution with full budget allocation. The center undertakes the tasks of clinical blood supply for medical institutions within the jurisdiction of Wuhan City, emergency blood supply for local emergencies and providing rare blood group to the whole province (neighboring provinces), performs the functions of provincial blood center, and is responsible for the business guidance, professional and technical personnel training and blood transfusion scientific research of blood collection and supply institutions in the whole province.

After more than 50 years of development, the center has become a modern multifunctional blood transfusion service center integrating blood collection and blood supply, hematopoietic stem cell donation, blood transfusion medical research, blood safety guarantee, popular science education and social charity. In addition, the center also undertook the centralized detection of blood samples from Ezhou Central Blood Station, Tianmen Blood Station and Xiantao Blood Station. At present, the annual blood supply is 44 tons, accounting for about one-third of Hubei Province.

Wuhan Blood Center is located at No.8 Baofeng No.1 Road, Hankou, with convenient transportation and prosperous business. The center covers an area of 8637.6 square meters with a building area of 10563 square meters. The center has about 250 employees, including 8 functional departments including office, humanities and education, and 8 business departments including blood donation service department, component blood donation department and blood donation recruitment department. The center has mobile blood collection points in Wuhan Square, Kerry Square, Zhongnan Commercial Plaza, Luxiang Square, Optics Valley Square and Zhongjia Village in Hanyang, and four fixed blood donation houses in the center headquarters, Wanda Commercial Plaza, Xu Dong Pinmao and Hanyang Carrefour (under reconstruction).
