Is China Travel Service a central enterprise or a state-owned enterprise?

China Tourism Group Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong China Travel Agency (Group) Co., Ltd. are important state-owned backbone enterprises directly managed by the central government and one of the three central enterprises headquartered in Hong Kong. The predecessor of the Group is Chen Guangfu, a patriotic banker, who founded the Hongkong Branch of China Travel Agency on 1928.

After more than 90 years of development, the Group has formed an industrial layout consisting of seven business units, including China Travel Agency, China Travel Agency Investment, China Travel Agency Tax Exemption, China Travel Agency Hotel, China Travel Agency Finance, China Travel Agency Assets and China Travel Agency Cruises. Its network covers nearly 30 countries and regions in Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and overseas. The Group has gathered many well-known tourism brands such as Hong Kong China Travel Service, China Travel Service, China Travel Service and China Free Travel, and is the only central enterprise with tourism as its core business.
