The U.S. Consulate in Wuhan can apply for visas

Currently, the Wuhan Embassy cannot apply for U.S. visas. The U.S. Embassy has clearly stated: The U.S. Embassy in Wuhan does not currently accept visa services. Chinese citizens who want to apply for U.S. visas can apply for U.S. visas at other U.S. embassies in China. Apply for a visa.

The U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan temporarily does not provide consular services. Therefore, U.S. citizens in the Wuhan consular district (Hubei, Henan, Hunan, Jiangxi) can receive consular services at the Embassy in Beijing or U.S. consulates in other regions (Shanghai, Shenyang, Guangzhou). To apply for relevant consular services, please make an appointment through the official website of the corresponding consulate. Starting February 15, 2022, U.S. citizens over the age of 16 can submit passport renewal applications using Form DS-82 by mail and by paying online. Applicants applying for a first U.S. passport, renewing a child's passport, and replacing a passport card still need to apply through a nearby embassy or consulate.
