Beijing Elderly Caregiver Subsidy

Beijing’s elderly care workers will enjoy a post-incentive allowance ranging from 500 yuan to 1,500 yuan per person per month.

1. Beijing will implement vocational skills training for elderly care workers, focusing on strengthening the vocational skills and care capabilities of elderly care workers.

2. Those who pass the training and obtain the completion certificate will be given a training subsidy of 1,500 yuan per person to the training institution, and the required funds will be disbursed from the Beijing Vocational Skills Improvement Action Special Fund.

3. According to the internationally recognized proportion of elderly care workers caring for four disabled or semi-disabled elderly people, my country currently needs more than 10 million elderly care workers.

Data released by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in March this year showed that there are now more than 2 million elderly people living in about 40,000 nursing homes across the country, but there are only 370,000 staff, and only 20 of the 370,000 are actual caregivers. It can be seen that there is a huge shortage of elderly care workers.
