Dongqiao is a cultural relic protection unit in Haishu District.

Dongqiao is located on the Nantang River between Dongqiao Village and Xiaziran Village, Dongqiao Village, Haishu District, Ningbo City. According to the records of Yinxian Tongzhi, it was built in the Song Jianlong period, and the present building is in the Qing Dynasty. The bridge spans the Nantang River in the east and west direction, and is a wooden covered bridge with single pier and double holes.

The plane of the underpass bridge is H-shaped, and the wooden bridge surface is 24.43m long and 6.3 1 m wide. There are seven verandahs on the deck, which are beam-lifting structures with five beams in the north and south and two steps in the front and back. The whole bridge is built on the top of the mountain with I-shaped single eaves. There are wooden bridge stools and guardrails on both sides of the central corridor. The north corridor is three rooms wide and four rafters deep, and there are five stone benches in it. The stone steps of the bay are connected with the village road and the bridge deck. The bridge building and the land hall are located on the east side of the south corridor without stone benches, and the three stone steps in the corridor are connected with the bridge deck.

The pier is ship-shaped, and the west end of the water surface is sharp, with stable structure and scientific design. There is a bridge pavilion in the north of the bridge, which is now the activity room for the elderly in the village.

East Bridge has a long history, stable structure and scientific architecture. It is the crystallization of ancient bridge-building art and has certain historical value for studying local traffic development and settlement reproduction. In 2007, it was announced as the eighth batch of district-level cultural relics protection units in Yinzhou District, and it was returned to Haishu District in 20 16 when the administrative division of Ningbo City was adjusted.

Dongqiao Village: Dongqiao Village, named after the bridge, is located in the southwest of Ningbo, 23km away from Yinjiang Town in the west and 2.5km away from dongqiao town Municipal Government in the east. Dongqiao Village consists of five natural villages: Hebei, Henan, Wujiazhuang, Fan Qianwang and Lanpuyan, with a village area of 1.6 square kilometers. There are 579 households in the village, with a population of 1.378 and cultivated land area of 1.650 mu. Dongqiao Village has a long history. The textual research on the cultural relics unearthed in this village shows that human culture has existed as early as the new era.
