The major of electrical engineering and automation belongs to the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering. The Department of Electrical Engineering originated from 1928 School of Electrical Engineering with a long history. 1987 was changed to School of Electric Power, Shanghai Jiaotong University, including four departments: Power Engineering Department, Electrical Engineering Department, Energy Engineering Department and Information and Control Engineering Department. 65438-0998 According to the needs of discipline construction, the Department of Energy Engineering was merged into the College of Mechanical and Power Engineering. 1999, the internal system reform of the college, and the department of electrical engineering and the department of electrical engineering merged into the department of electrical engineering. Undergraduate students of our department won the first prize of the National Electronic Design Competition for College Students in succession in 1995 and 1997. Non-linear electronic technology, electronic measurement technology, software technology foundation, programmable controller principle, management information system, phase-locked technology, data communication, motor control technology, power system relay protection and automatic device, power communication system and dispatching automation, electrical equipment insulation detection and fault diagnosis, electromagnetic compatibility technology, embedded system design, modern power system management and other courses constitute professional direction and professional frontier curriculum modules.
Suitable jobs for graduates: the graduates trained in this major have strong abilities in electrical design, circuit design, computer application and foreign languages, high comprehensive quality of social science and humanistic knowledge, strong adaptability and outstanding practical and collaborative abilities. Graduates have wide adaptability and can engage in scientific research, teaching, technology development, engineering design and project management in the field of electrical information engineering. After graduation, except for some students who continue their graduate studies, the rest are engaged in R&D, technical support and project management in scientific research institutes, design institutes, power companies, electrical equipment companies, computer companies, automation companies, communication equipment companies and communication service companies, such as General Electric, Schneider, ABB and Huawei.
