China UnionPay has been awarded the title of "High-tech Enterprise" for many years. The National Engineering Laboratory of UnionPay E-commerce and Electronic Payment is the only national engineering laboratory in the domestic financial industry, and has undertaken a series of national key scientific research projects including the National Cloud Computing Demonstration Project and the National Science and Technology Support Plan.
