1. Two-plate mold (2 PLATE MOLD)
The two-plate mold, also known as the single parting surface mold, is the simplest type of injection mold. It divides the entire mold into two parts with the parting surface as the boundary:
The movable mold and the fixed mold .Part of the cavity is in the movable mold; part of the cavity is in the fixed mold. The main flow channel is in the fixed mold; the runner is set on the parting surface. After the mold is opened, the product and runner remain in the movable mold, and the movable mold part is equipped with an ejection System.
2. Three-plate mold or fine gate mold (3 PLATE MOLD, PIN-POINT GATE MOLD)
There are two parting surfaces to divide the mold into three parts, which is better than the two-plate mold. The mold has a gate plate added, which is suitable for situations where there are no gate marks around the product. This mold uses point gates, so it is called a fine gate mold. The structure of this mold is correspondingly more complicated. Use Sander screws or sander screws to start the power. Pull plate.
3. Hot runner mold (HOT RUNNER MANIFOLD)
With the help of heating device, the plastic in the pouring system will not solidify and will not be demoulded with the product, so it is Called runnerless mold.
Advantages:
1) No waste
2) Injection pressure can be reduced and multi-cavity molds can be used
3) Can shorten the molding cycle
4) Improve the quality of the product
Characteristics of molding materials suitable for hot runner:
1) Melting temperature of the plastic It has a wide range and has good fluidity at low temperatures; it has good thermal stability at high temperatures.
2) It is sensitive to pressure and does not flow without pressure, but it can flow when pressure is applied.
3) Small specific heat, easy to melt and easy to cool.
4) Good thermal conductivity, so that it can be cooled quickly in the mold.
Hot runner can be used The plastics include: PE, PE, ABS, POM, PC, HIPS, PS
There are two types of hot runners we commonly use now:
1) Heated runner mold
2) Insulated runner mold
4. THROUGHLY HARDEN (44HRC or above)
The steel used in the inner mold needs to be heat treated after purchase , such as quenching and carburizing, in order to meet the use requirements. Such an injection mold
is called a hard mold. For example, the inner mold uses H13 steel, 420 steel, and S7 steel.
5. Soft mold Mold (PRE-HARDENED) (below 44HRC)
The steel used in the inner mold does not require heat treatment after purchase to meet the usage requirements. Such an injection mold is called a soft mold.
For example, the internal modules are made of P20 steel, Ace, 420H steel, NAK80, aluminum, and beryllium copper.
