Weishi county is located in the eastern Henan plain and belongs to Kaifeng City, Henan Province. It borders Tongxu and Fugou counties in the east, Yanling and Changge counties in the south, Xinzheng county in the west and Xiangfu District and zhongmou county in the north. It is 40.77 kilometers long from north to south and 43.76 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of about 1.307 square kilometers and a total population of 8 1.000 (2000). The resident of Weishi County Party Committee and Weishi County People's Government is Chengguan Town.

Weigu, called "Weizhou", is a county with expanded economic management and preferential electricity prices in Henan Province. It is one of the eight characteristic bases in Henan Province approved by the provincial government, and it is also a high-efficiency agricultural demonstration park in Wei Province.
