Should an English major as a translator specialize in another major?

Yes, I am a translator. I tell you from personal experience that the more majors you want to study, the better. As the saying goes, to be a translator is to be a panacea. Sometimes you don't have to learn deeply, but you must know everything. I wonder how much translation practice you have now. Do more and you will understand that what you need is not your English knowledge, but your Chinese ability and extensive knowledge. Most of the things that need to be translated at work are highly professional, such as politics, law, trade, industry, commerce, agriculture, computer, chemical industry and culture. Do you still need to translate those things that you understand at first sight? Sometimes I give you Chinese, and you don't understand it, so how do you translate it? Therefore, the suggestion is to expand your knowledge and get to know other majors as widely as possible. Language itself is just a tool.
