Qingtai Waterworks was established in June, 1930. It is the first waterworks in Zhejiang Province, located on the north side of Qingtai overpass, covering an area of 1 14 mu. The water source of the water plant is from Qiantang River, and the water production process is the conventional treatment process of flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection. After several expansions and technical transformation, the water supply capacity has reached 300,000 tons/day, which mainly undertakes the water supply in the eastern part of Hangzhou.

The initial designed water production capacity of Qingtai Waterworks is 8,000 tons/day, and the production capacity of 1969 is 75,000 tons/day. After several expansions and technical transformation, the water production capacity of 1985 and 1992 reached155,000 tons/day and 300,000 tons/day respectively. In recent years, after technical transformation, Qingtai Waterworks has basically realized unattended production site, the whole production process is automatically controlled by PLC, and the equipment can be started and stopped remotely in one step, which has reduced the cost of water production, improved and stabilized the water quality of the factory. Technical transformation and scientific and technological innovation of waterworks have been reported frequently, and many QC achievements have won prizes in national, provincial and municipal competitions.

At the end of 2008, the Group began to implement the technical transformation project of drinking water purification in Qingtai Waterworks, and the 70,000-ton/day and 80,000-ton/day systems put into operation in the 1960s and 1970s were discontinued. Ozone pretreatment and membrane advanced treatment processes were added in this technical transformation. After completion, the treatment scale will still be 300,000 tons/day. The technological process is pre-ozone-flocculation-sedimentation-carbon sand filtration-membrane filtration, and the sludge discharge wastewater will be dehydrated and dried. It is estimated that the construction period of the project will be 3 years, with a total investment of 355 million yuan.
