1982 When he was only 14 years old, Wu Wenzhong began to learn wood carving skills from his brother Wu Wenwu. After completing the apprenticeship in three years, the two brothers transferred their skills to Fuzhou. In 1996, they entered the Xiamen Branch of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University to study "craft sculpture" for two years in 1999. Since the founding of "Puyang Buddha Statue Crafts Co., Ltd." in 2001, the company has gradually become a leading wood carving enterprise in Fujian and Puzhou. He specializes in the unique traditional craft of making large wooden Buddha statues, paying special attention to the simple, rigorous, solemn and loving shapes of the Buddha statues. Since 1987, he has taught hundreds of disciples. Among them, Wu Jinliang, his most popular disciple, won the title of No. 1 Wood Sculptor in China in the 3rd "Yi Ding Cup" Chinese Wood Sculpture Live Production Competition in 2011.
