The history of port towns

The predecessor of gaogang district Port Town is Yue Fei's "Taizhou is punctual without danger and surrenders to Chai City" in Song history. This famous historical and cultural town has a history of more than 1000 years since it was founded in the Southern Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties (AD 937). The cultural heritage is profound and there are many cultural relics and historic sites. In particular, the ancient Shousheng Temple, which was built in the tenth year of the Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 183), was a place where Taizhou people lived and studied for a long time in the Ming Dynasty and wrote poems.

According to historical records, Shousheng Temple of Chai Xu was a monk named Xin Rong, who traveled here by cloud and spent more than ten years to raise money. In the old society, Chaixu was once the seat of Taizhou Prefecture and Taixing County, and has always been a natural harbor and transportation hub in history. With the development of politics, economy and culture, temples are increasingly prosperous. At its peak, Shousheng Temple occupied an area of 100 mu, with more than 300 monks living there, which was one of the "Fourteen Jungles" in Taizhou 33 years ago. In the middle of Ming Dynasty, Taizhou was born in 1457 and died in 15 13. He has been smart and studious since childhood. He can recite poems at the age of five and write articles at the age of nine, so he is called a child prodigy. At the age of 27, he won the first place in the provincial examination and the first place in the next year. During the Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty, palace examination ranked second and was a high school scholar. Since then, he has embarked on a career. He has been an honest and meticulous official all his life.

When Chu was young, he had a soft spot for Chai Xushou Holy Temple, where he studied and wrote poems for a long time. The four seasons old trees in the temple are dense, deep and quiet, and the scenery is pleasant. The main hall, terrace and carved beams and painted buildings are hidden among thousands of trees, and the "longevity wins the bell" in the temple is one of the eight scenic spots in Chai City. It is said that it is precisely because of Chai Xu's plot of living in Shousheng Temple and because he has always adhered to the rigorous academic style based on modesty, he used the homophonic meaning of "being vain and shallow in learning" to combine the two meanings with Chai Xu, where he loves to study hard, and took his own large name: "Chai Xu", and later his anthology was also named "Chai Xu Ji". His study career in Chaixu Shousheng Temple was vividly described in his poem "Rhyme between the Secondary Walls of Sukou Temple" when he first arrived at the temple. Its poem says:

The first time I stayed in the ancient temple, I was curious all my life. Shells turn old leaves, only trees lean on high branches.

Moon with meditation, autumn limb disease. Clear light pays off, there are poems here.

Every year in March and April, it is the best time for firewood market scenery. The bright sunshine shines on the earth. There are lush trees, green smoke, wild rivers and fishermen boating in the suburbs, which is a wonderful scenery in spring. Chu, who lives in the temple, is not lonely. I often go out of the temple, visit the renovation activities of Gulan Pavilion with the literati friends of Chai Ruins, have a heart-to-heart talk with each other, improvise poems by turns with a certain proposition, express my ideal of life and feel the beauty of nature. One day, they took the Yangtze River fresh fish on the dining table as the topic, and other people's poems deliberately described and praised the color, fragrance and beauty of the fish, but when it was his turn to store fish, he found another way, turning from delicious fish to self-reflection, never forgetting that he had not achieved fame, contributed to the country and failed his life. The whole poem uses things to create feelings, supports things to express aspirations, and does not fall into the conventional pattern. Its poem says:

In April in the south of the Yangtze River, bamboo shoots are clear, and the sea is rarely heard when it is wrong. Jade bone's horizontal rhinoceros horn is thin, and its scales reflect crystals.

Only official ships are recommended, covered with fishing nets. On this day, I experienced new feelings, and the savage Qin felt ashamed.

Chu Zuo was a high school scholar and left Shousheng Temple as a court official until his death. In the following years, in order to commemorate and cherish the memory of this Confucian master, scholars from Chai Ruins and other countries often visited and studied the former site of Shousheng Temple, visited places of interest, and gathered to compose poems to pay tribute to it. Among them, a celebrity in the Qing Dynasty wrote a poem entitled "Shousheng Temple in Chai Ruins is pregnant with Chu Gong", which wrote:

March fireworks road, driving past Chai Hui. The collection of Myanmar firewood market will be returned immediately.

Mr. Guangling, bow down and save first. Ascend to the throne and become a famous Confucian.

In the year of Xuantongyuan in Qing Dynasty, Xia Yue, a famous minister of Taizhou in Qing Dynasty, invited comrades to paint a portrait of Gong Chu, decorated it and hung it in the East Building of Shousheng Temple as a memorial. At the same time, he wrote a poem "Looking Back on the Past at Shousheng Temple in Chai Xu", in which there is a sentence "The name of the ancient temple is left in the official office, and the shape of Chai Xu is better than that of Yang Tong".

Shousheng Temple in Chai Xu was destroyed in the Anti-Japanese War in 1945. However, the historical stories left by famous Confucian scholars in Taizhou in Ming Dynasty, like the bells of Shousheng in those years, can travel through historical time and space and float in the hearts of Chai Xu people, often making them feel warm and nostalgic from the bottom of their hearts.
