The college consists of six departments and one department: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Computer Technology, Tourism and Cooking, Textile and Clothing and Basic Courses. The current full-time majors offered include: 3 technician majors, 5 senior technical majors, 10 intermediate technical majors, 3 university preparatory majors, and 2 special undergraduate majors jointly organized with Hohai University. The college recruits students from all over the country who have graduated from junior high school and above, and provides teaching and training at different levels. When students complete the required credits, the college will issue vocational qualification certificates and academic certificates of the corresponding level.

Changzhou Technician College (Changzhou Advanced Technical School), formerly Changzhou Technical School, was founded in 1960 and resumed operations in 1978. The college implements "integrated" modular teaching and credit-based teaching methods. In 1994, it was rated as a national key technical school. In the same year, it was approved as Changzhou Senior Technical School. In 2000, it was named "Changzhou Technician College". In February 2008, it was renamed Jiangsu Changzhou Technician College. In 2013, it moved to No. 8 Nenjiang Road, Xinqiao Town, Xinbei District, Changzhou City.
