What qualifications do you need to be a Taoist?

There are some differences in information about the academic qualifications required to be a Taoist, but generally speaking, different Taoist organizations and Taoist temples have different requirements for academic qualifications:

1. Some Taoist temples or organizations require Taoists to have a college degree or above, which is helpful for better understanding and learning Taoist classics.

2. Other Taoist organizations pay more attention to personal moral cultivation and understanding of Taoism, and think that education is not a necessary condition, but also pay more attention to moral integrity, six purity, mentoring relationship and sincere belief in Taoism.

3. Some Taoist places may only require junior and senior high school education, or even have no strict academic requirements under certain conditions, but they need to pass the examinations organized by Taoist temples, including written examinations, interviews and inspection of candidates' moral quality and understanding of Taoism.
