Development Status of Shahe Glass in Hebei Province

Development status of glass industry in shahe city. The glass industry has started a new round of transformation and upgrading, from 176 224 production lines at the end of 2006 to 95 140 production lines at present, with an annual output of about 50 million weight boxes, accounting for 12% of the national flat glass output. Among them, there are 9 float production lines (3 in Xin Ying Group, 4 in Safety Glass Factory and 2 in Great Wall Glass Factory) with a production capacity of about18 million weight boxes. There are 36 enterprises whose daily melting capacity exceeds100t, including 75 production lines with a production capacity of about 23.8 million weight boxes. There are 59 ordinary small cell production lines with a production capacity of about 8.2 million weight boxes (at present, all these production lines have entered the elimination list).

At present, the glass industry presents the following three characteristics:

First, the pace of industrial upgrading has accelerated. Twenty float glass production lines have been completed and put into operation, and eight more are under construction. High-quality float glass products will become the mainstream in two years. For example, Xin Ying Glass Group introduced advanced technology from Germany and the United States respectively, and invested 780 million yuan to build two Low-E glass production lines; Safety Industrial Company cooperated with China Building Materials International Engineering Co., Ltd. to invest 800 million yuan to build a self-cleaning glass production line; Xin Ying Group and Xinli Company respectively signed an agreement with Wuhan University of Technology to jointly develop photoelectric conversion glass and high borosilicate glass; Zheng Da Glass Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with China Building Materials International Engineering Co., Ltd. to jointly develop ultra-white thin glass. The construction of these advanced glass production lines will drive the glass industry in our city to achieve a new leap.

Second, the variety of glass products is diversified. From single building flat glass in the past to multi-variety and deep processing. Decorative glass has reached a considerable scale. At present, there are 18 online calendered glass production lines, 3 hollow glass brick production lines, plus more than 90 concave and emulsified glass enterprises, which produce about10 million weight boxes of decorative glass every year. In addition, there are glass and deep-processed products such as microcrystalline glass, insulating glass and tempered glass.

Third, the market share of Shahe glass has gradually expanded. After years of development, the glass industry has become one of the pillar industries in our city. The fixed assets of the whole industry reached 5 billion yuan, with an annual output value of about 4 billion yuan, which directly accommodated more than 20,000 social laborers and promoted the employment of about 30,000 people in related industries. Shahe Glass sells well in all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities except Tibet and Taiwan Province Province, forming a relatively stable sales network. In recent years, the export of Shahe glass has increased rapidly, reaching 25 million US dollars in 2006.
