People's Republic of China (PRC) Trade Union Law

In order to maintain the position of trade unions in the political, economic and social life of the country, determine the rights and obligations of trade unions, and give full play to the role of trade unions in the cause of socialist modernization, this Law is formulated in accordance with the Constitution.

Trade unions are mass organizations of the working class, and workers unite voluntarily. The All-China Federation of Trade Unions and its trade union organizations represent the interests of employees and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests according to law. In China's enterprises, institutions and institutions, manual workers and mental workers whose main source of livelihood is wages have the right to join and organize trade unions according to law, regardless of nationality, race, sex, occupation, religious belief and education level. No organization or individual may obstruct or restrict it.
