Scrap iron

Scrap steel is the scrap steel eliminated or damaged as recycling in production and life projects; Its carbon content is generally less than 2.0%, and its sulfur and phosphorus content does not exceed 0.05%. Scrap steel exists in various forms due to different conditions, and its performance is basically the same as that of finished products, but it is also affected by factors such as aging effectiveness and fatigue, and its performance is reduced. The geographical distribution of scrap iron and steel resources in China is also unbalanced. More than 80% of China's waste steel resources are distributed in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangdong, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong, Hubei, Sichuan, Jiangsu and other provinces and cities with relatively concentrated industrial and mining enterprises and relatively dense population. In other areas, due to poor geographical conditions and small population, less than 20% of scrap steel resources are produced. Scrap steel processing generally adopts mechanical processing, and commonly used machines include press baler and cutter. Scrap steel is mainly used as steelmaking additive for long-flow converter or steelmaking main material for short-flow electric furnace. Due to the limitation of elimination years, domestic scrap resources are basically in a poor period, which can not meet the needs of the rapid development of iron and steel industry. In 2005, the unit consumption of steel scrap in major domestic steel mills was 169.08kg, which was significantly lower than 220 kg in 2004, with a decrease of 23%. In 2005, about 6.5438+0.02 million tons of scrap steel were imported, and the export volume was negligible. The demand for scrap steel will reach 61900,000 tons, and the production recovery will reach10.43 million tons.
