Application of short message

-Apply for a job with your fingers.

Many graduates have lost many job hunting opportunities because of incomplete or untimely information. Now college graduates can become users of the "recruitment information SMS notification system" in two ways to obtain recruitment information in time. One way is for registered users to fill in the "SMS notification registration form" through the website and click to select the industry they care about. Another way is that the mobile company assigns an access number to the talent website, the user sends the code to the website access number through the mobile phone, and the website sends the recruitment information according to the user's mobile phone address, and deducts the 10 20 yuan information fee from the user's SIM card every month.

According to the latest recruitment information in the database, the talent website uses the short message platform to send recruitment information to users registered on its website according to the industry clicked by users, so that users can browse the latest detailed recruitment information in time.

As we all know, railway freight is still the main mode of freight transportation in China, and the freight transported by railway accounts for about half of the total freight transported by the whole society every year. As the consignor or consignee of these goods, they need to know the operation information of these goods in order to arrange other production, transportation and sales plans. In fact, the railway freight information service that customers need is far more than the tracking of freight operation information mentioned above, such as goods notification and freight rate inquiry, which are all information that customers need to know. In view of this situation, the relevant departments have begun to develop short message services applied to the railway system, including: tracking information services, delivery notice, container price inquiry, passenger car information inquiry, aviation, sea transportation, highway and other freight information inquiry, general information and so on. -Text to check the electricity meter.

As the window of electric power service, electric power customer service department undertakes a lot of work such as electric power inquiry, business acceptance, fault repair, complaint reporting, overdue payment, active notification, customer return visit, auxiliary management of production process and so on. The existing power customer service mode is realized through call centers and websites, which requires a lot of manpower and material resources. Nowadays, SMS can not only increase the media coverage and the number of users of electric power customer service, but also fully establish the service image of enterprises in the public and save manpower and material resources.

The specific business includes: power repair feedback, power enterprise image publicity, advertising in power-related industries, power outage notification, etc.

Architecture of short message

The point-to-point short message service defined in GSM standard enables short messages to be transmitted between mobile stations and short message service centers. These service centers are connected to the GSM network through a special MSC called SMS- GMSC. The protocol related to SMS management is shown in figure 1.

Figure 1 SMS management protocol

SME: short message entity, short message entity. Can receive or improve short messages, located in fixed telephone systems, mobile base stations or other service centers;

SMSC: short message service center, which is responsible for forwarding, storing or forwarding short messages between the base station and SME; The protocol from mobile station (ME) to SMSC can transmit short messages from or to mobile stations, and the protocol name is SMTP (Short Message Transfer Protocol).

Short message gateway msc, short message gateway. Receiving the short message sent by SMSC, inquiring the routing information from HLR, and sending the short message to the switching center of the base station where the receiver is located;

HLR: Home registration. A database for permanently storing management users and service records, which is generated by SMSC. The protocol between SMS gateway and HLR enables the former to ask HLR to search for available user addresses. Together with the protocol between MSC and HLR, it can prompt the mobile station when it loses messages due to out-of-coverage area, and can be found later.

MSC: Mobile switching center, mobile switching center. Responsible for system switching management and control of calls from or to other telephone or data systems.

VLR: visitor location register:, visitor location register. A database containing temporary user information. The switching center service needs this information when accessing users.

Important concepts

Short message initiated by mobile phone.

When a GSM user sends a short message, he must at least include the identifier of the final address and the number of the service center that handles the message in his content, and then request delivery.

The transmission of short messages needs to establish a signaling connection between the mobile station and the MSC. The message itself needs to establish a dedicated link layer link on the wireless path and adopt a dedicated messaging protocol. At the top of the specified protocol stack is the so-called transport layer protocol. In the case of short message initiated by mobile, it is a separate message, namely SMTP (SMTP is not TCP/IP) short message transmission message, and the lower layer handles the transmission of reply, which only means that SMSC has received the message.

Mobile phone terminates short message.

Short messages sent to GSM users must first be routed from the sender to the short message service center, and then to the actual address.

When SMSC has a short message to send to GSM users, it will create an SMS-DELIVER message, which contains all kinds of information beneficial to the receiver. This information includes the user's content, the identity of the original sender, and a timestamp indicating that SMSC has received the short message. Similar to MO, SMS-DELIVER messages will be transmitted on various interfaces.

Before reaching the destination, you must use the MAP/C query function to obtain the actual route of the message. The following methods are adopted: SMSC sends the short message to the short message gateway connected to the service center, and the choice of the gateway depends on the users it wants, because usually the gateway can only handle a part of users (users of a certain operator or a certain country). In this way, the user is identified by the phone book number (usually the same as the phone), which is initially input by the short message sender, which enables the SMS gateway to identify the relevant HLR and query it. The query is realized by sending special messages, that is, MAP/C sends routing INFOR messages as short messages; The response may be the Map/C sending routing information of the short message result message containing the SS7 address of the MSC/VLR that the user is visiting, or a rejection message when it is known that the user is unreachable at this time.

What are the elements of SMS?

SMS consists of several service elements related to submission or reception, such as validity period (storage time that SMSC needs to ensure before successfully sending short messages to users) and priority. In addition, the short message also provides the time to submit the message, telling the mobile station whether there are more messages to send and how many messages to send.

I can't get in touch by SMS.

There are three situations in which SMS can't be contacted:

When the SMS gateway inquires, if the mobile station is not in the service area, has no service authorization, or has an unsuccessful message waiting for an alarm, HLR will immediately know that it cannot be sent;

In the second case, the MSC/VLR has received the message, but cannot send it. At this point, it first sends a fault indication to the SMS gateway as a reply to the MAP/H FORWARD short message; Then, on the one hand, the gateway will send a negative report to SMSC, on the other hand, it will send a MAP/C SET MESSAGE WAITING DATA message to HLR, and update the form after receiving the message confirmation. The event will be stored in the user records of VLR and HLR;

In the third case, MSC/VLR sends a valid message to the user, but finds that it cannot be transmitted.
