Su Yuling, an outstanding alumnus, was visited by the Youth Practice Team of School of Management, Shandong University.
Mr. Xia gently blew the sky away, and * * * described the campus situation over the years. School of Management of Shandong University has been established for a long time, and has trained many outstanding students with outstanding ability and quality. In this summer vacation, the social practice team of "Youth All the way" of School of Management visited several outstanding alumni who have been working for many years, recalled campus memories, recalled their colorful youth in Shanda School of Management, and shared their professional experiences, so that students could feel the excellent quality of model alumni of School of Management more deeply, thus building a bridge between the youth paths of different ages.
On August 22nd, the "Youth Together" team of the School of Management of Shandong University was lucky enough to contact Ms. Su Yuling, an outstanding alumnus of the School of Management of Shandong University and working for Inspur Group, for an online interview. The interview revolves around three aspects: the story of Shanda, the understanding of the work and the message to the college students. In order to improve the management quality and comprehensive quality, and also to improve their academic level, Senior Sister Su Yuling chose to attend the EMBA of School of Management of Shandong University in the autumn of 20 1 1. First of all, Senior Su Yuling shared with us her study in Shanda University, from the overall overview to the sharing of specific issues, such as favorite teachers, courses and interesting activities. Through the patient narration of senior sister, we have a deeper understanding of her schooling experience and feel the spirit of senior sister's initiative and continuous pursuit of progress. Next, we talked about the topic of work. Senior sister shared with us her personal experience gained in her years of work without reservation.
Finally, Sister Su Yuling hopes that her schoolmates will not only stick to their original intentions and work hard for their own goals, but also keep pace with the times, improve their abilities in actual combat and create a wonderful life for live high.
Interview clips and campus memory
Q: Can you briefly introduce your study experience in Shandong University first?
Su: My undergraduate degree is Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications-a pure science and engineering college, so my background is quite reasonable. After work, I hope my management quality and comprehensive quality can be improved. At the same time, in order to improve my academic level, I chose the EMBA of School of Management of Shandong University in the fall of 201/kloc-0, which is roughly the case.
Q: OK, did you meet a favorite teacher or a favorite course when you were studying? Can you share it with us?
Sue: There are a lot of big coffees in the EMBA. Mr Liu Hongwei gave us a financial lesson, which left a deep impression on me. In fact, for engineering students like us, the financial field is far away from us and it is very boring to learn. I used to think these things had nothing to do with me. But in Liu Jiaoshou's class, he will show us the financial statements of many well-known enterprises, and personally take us to do and analyze them, so that I really feel the indispensable role of finance in management and business decision-making, including some very key indicators of enterprises, all from finance; In addition, there is a lot of financial knowledge. By looking at the financial statements, we can know the actual operation of this enterprise. Chen Zhijun, a teacher of management innovation, focuses on the management of some computer enterprises, which is similar to our situation in Inspur. Even in class, the wave is one of his cases. In Shandong, a big group like Inspur also has subsidiaries, subsidiaries and regional companies, so how to cooperate with subsidiaries can maximize utility and benefits. Professor Chen speaks very well and he is also very humorous. The instructor of my thesis, Professor Liu Bin's human resources course-most of the students who entered the EMBA at that time had already obtained positions above the middle level in the enterprise. I must have encountered a bottleneck or shortcoming in management when I took this course. Some courses and the analysis of Liu Bin's career have divided us into what we should do at different stages of our career. When I was studying EMBA, I worked as a manager in (Inspur) human resources department, and I felt that my theoretical system of coaching employees in the company was clear. Moreover, for EMBA cadres and students or students in the middle of their careers, it has a very strong guiding significance for themselves. In fact, sometimes we are in a period of professional agitation, so in this period of agitation, how do you stick to your initial intention, find your own advantages, make your longboard longer and maximize your professional value? These ideas were very valuable to us at that time.
Q: What do you think this learning experience will do for your future life planning and career development?
Sue: Exactly what I said (actually). One is that I have gained a lot from my study during this period, including theoretical models and other people's experiences. I think this is a process of learning and learning from others. For us, through benchmarking, knowing how others do it broadens our horizons. I felt very blocked when I didn't study before-on the one hand, I was in the wave myself, so I knew how the wave was done; But in the classroom, you can jump out of yourself and jump out of the trend, not only to see how other excellent domestic enterprises do it, but also to see how top international enterprises do it, so this is a kind of realm improvement. I have a good habit myself. When I see any good ideas and practices, I will record them in my cloud notes or memos for easy reference at any time. Or what you recorded in class, it will be convenient to organize and shape when you come back. In addition to the theoretical knowledge in the classroom, we will have a lot of team discussions in the classroom, which is actually a collision between many different types of enterprises, which can well let us go out of our own limitations to look at the problem. At that time, there were many traditional manufacturing industries in our class, such as coal manufacturing, steel industry, salt industry and so on. The experience of these industries is not available in our current wave, but you can find from your contact with them that the problems encountered in management are the same, and you can learn from the experience of dealing with problems. I think this is to enhance the career and enterprise vision and expand the boundaries.
Q: You are bound to encounter some difficulties and setbacks in your study and work. How did you overcome meeting them?
Sue: It is common to encounter difficulties in study and work. Let's talk about a practical thing. I have been in the human resources department from 2003 to 19, but it's my turn to go to the marketing department in 2020. This is actually a challenge for me, but it is also a new opportunity. Some past experience and work habits may become more useful when facing this challenge. No matter what you do, self-drive, responsibility, execution, responsibility and positive and optimistic attitude in the early stage can ensure that you will not have too many problems in the process of engaging in another job in the future. These years of habits can completely help you overcome the challenges at the bottom. Another, to ensure your learning ability, everyone has his own learning library, what he has learned and what he has not learned, and his own long board and short board, but the existence of learning ability, methods and knowledge should be able to overcome this challenge well even if you change departments or fields. Third, I think the most important thing in the workplace is the ability to communicate and cooperate. Whether you are an employee or a cadre, you are not an independent individual working. In an enterprise, there is basically no situation where you can finish your work without dealing with people. Therefore, to overcome difficulties, we need to rely on organizations and teams. How to mobilize team members to cooperate with themselves, I think this is the ability that a team manager must have. To sum up, it is a combination of self-motivation, learning ability and communication ability. The existence of these abilities and qualities can be well overcome no matter how difficult it is.
Q: Did Senior Sister participate in or organize some interesting activities during her study in Shanda University?
Sue: We organized many mobile classes in class. As I mentioned just now, students can gain some unique insights by visiting, investigating and exchanging experiences of different enterprises. I think this is very good. Also, several students in our class participated in the 7th Gobi Challenge organized by National Business School. At that time, Teacher Lu Hao led us to work very hard. He walked behind in order not to let each of us fall behind. He is usually the hardest. I think grades are one thing, and this is the second. The key is our team spirit-when we arrive at the camp, someone will pick bubbles for you, someone will give you a massage and someone will help you set up a tent. Once our energy is restored, everyone will get up and help other members do something they can. In such activities, our team spirit has been well reflected; And I think it is our great honor to make Shanda's reputation louder in such a whole circle.
Interview clips and career random thoughts
Q: Inspur can be said to be a very well-known old enterprise in Shandong Province. So when did you first come into contact with this industry, sister?
Sue: I graduated from 200 1, and it will be almost 20 years next year.
Q: That senior is really a veteran of Inspur! For those of us who have not yet entered the society, do you have any precious experiences you want to share with us?
Sue: Well, I think there is a certain difference between campus life and social life, but the difference lies in the goal and the object of communication. To some extent, (from campus to society), we just changed the environment; For ourselves, many things are actually interlinked, and these abilities that we need to "do well in college" and "do well in society" are interlinked. I don't think there is such a thing as "campus and society are separated", such as "what will I be like now, what will I be like when I get to society and work", which is actually unrealistic. Just like work and life, it is difficult for us to be completely separated at ordinary times. For this aspect you mentioned, first of all, you should put your mind right. No matter on campus or in society, self-reliance is beneficial to you. Furthermore, in enterprises, learning ability and expression ability are very important, and of course, learning ability on campus is also very important. Its usual form of expression is achievement, but in enterprises, it is not only presented through a single form of achievement, but also very diversified. I think this is what you need to understand. Social evaluation and enterprise evaluation are multidimensional. This multi-dimensional evaluation system means that we should pay attention to what should be presented; Attention, action and presentation are indispensable. Like jiaozi, he has everything in his stomach, but he can't show it, which is a great loss for the enterprise. So you should make more preparations in this respect-of course, you can't just say (be present), you can go to the enterprise for more internships to understand and observe.
Q: Sister, now that you are a leader, you must have a clear understanding of your life. So how did you find your direction in life when you were at our age and in a confused period of life?
Sue: Actually, for graduates, I think I can give myself two to three years to explore the direction. Generally speaking, our occupation is-within three years, we can have more experience, choose more positions to experience and make up for shortcomings; But after three to five years, most people should be able to find their own direction of future efforts and choose their own longboard to develop. In an enterprise, there should be two directions of efforts, one is to become an expert in a certain industry or field (that is, what we call full-time technicians), and the other is to become a manager. As for becoming a manager, the requirements for his professional direction are not very high, because management basically has great similarities in various fields; But managers should have the potential to be managers, because in an enterprise, the proportion of managers is relatively low, basically not exceeding 20%, that is to say, about 80% of the posts are professional posts. If you want to choose a professional position, you must be able to find your longest board after three years-I just said that 1-3 years is a short board, so that you can have a comprehensive development in all aspects. After three years, you must set a goal and develop your own longboard, such as planning, making tables or being able to understand the business better than others and convince customers better. Anyway, you can go to a certain place. Not all students in the school of management are managers, but they may also be financial experts, recruitment experts, marketing experts and so on. If you do what you are good at and like repeatedly, your sense of accomplishment and self-confidence will be stronger.
Q: Thank you very much for sharing! As we all know, this year is a very special year. Due to the outbreak of the epidemic, not only enterprises in China, but also enterprises in countries all over the world have suffered some impacts. What preparations should enterprises and individuals make to tide over this difficulty?
Su: For students from a 985 key university like Shanda, if it is difficult, I don't think it will be too big. Some at the bottom are bigger. My opinion-the epidemic may bring us some challenges, but it also gives us time. Time is fair to everyone. During this time, we can do something to improve ourselves, learn a new skill and exercise an ability. It also helps us to cherish this time and think about the meaning and development direction of life. For example, it's good that you have this interview today. By talking to some successful people, you will certainly gain more than those who have done nothing. The core is to practice hard, and it can't be judged as a difficulty by these months. In addition, take the initiative to find. I believe that even if this year is difficult, most enterprises will definitely have employment needs, mainly because you are willing to find it yourself. Some people may say, alas, this enterprise is too bitter, that enterprise has a bad evaluation, that enterprise has worked overtime and so on, so we don't think there is a chance to be picky here, which is wrong. We should seize some immediate opportunities, accumulate ability and experience, and lay the foundation for better opportunities. This is my general idea.

Q: The 20th anniversary of/KLOC-0 will be celebrated soon at Shanda University, and the 35th anniversary of our School of Management will be celebrated soon. Do you have anything to say to Shanda or our classmates? Sue: As seniors and sisters, I hope that our students and sisters in Shanda School of Management can not only stick to their original intentions and work hard for their goals, but also keep pace with the times and improve their abilities in actual combat. I hope everyone can improve their skills all the way and have a wonderful time in live high!
Conclusion: In this interview, every word of Su Yuling's senior sister shines with her aggressive and persistent attitude and spirit. Whether she chooses to re-enter the campus to improve her knowledge or bravely accept the challenges in her work, she is pursuing a better self with an enterprising attitude. When talking about the advice and suggestions to the younger brothers and sisters, the elder sister hit the pain point of the current students' general confusion profoundly and accurately. When sharing her experience, she was sincere without losing depth, and every sentence came from the heart. Thanks to Sister Su Yuling for sharing her feelings. I hope that the students in our school of management can stick to their original intentions, work hard for their goals, keep pace with the times, improve their actual combat ability and live a wonderful life, as Sister Su Yuling said.
This interview and sharing is the last stop of the "Youth Fellowship" tour of Shandong University School of Management. Looking back on these ten days of interviews, the soliloquies and advice of eight outstanding alumni of the School of Management still haunt my mind. With the strong support of the School of Management Alumni Association, eight members of "All the way to Youth" actively participated in the whole process of the search, from the preparation of preliminary materials to formal interviews, to sorting out records and then to writing and posting. The acquisition of every material and the presentation of tweets are inseparable from the cooperation of the whole team. The end of the search is accompanied by the arrival of autumn, but the enterprising enthusiasm and glory of the predecessors will become the driving force for the younger generation of the School of Management, inspiring and accompanying us to keep forging ahead in the future.
