Jiaokou County is located in the middle of Lvliang Mountains in the west of Shanxi Province, at the southernmost tip of Lvliang City. Founded in May of 197 1, it consists of Xiaoyi County, Lingshi County and Xixian County. The total area is 1258 km2, and the permanent population will be 953 13 by 2020. It is a place rich in natural resources, history and culture, with scenic spots such as Mountain Valley and Thousand Buddha Cave, as well as revolutionary cultural relics such as the former site of the Red Army's East Expedition Headquarters.
