Treatment measures of Ebinur Lake

There is a 14 management and protection station around Ebinur Lake Wetland Reserve, which is responsible for patrolling around Ebinur Lake. However, due to the remote location of Ebinur Lake and inconvenient transportation, it is difficult to recruit personnel for the management and protection station.

"Despite a lot of efforts and difficulties, the fundamental problem of Ebinur Lake ecological protection is still water shortage." Xinhe Wang, member of the Standing Committee of Autonomous Prefecture Committee, said.

The average water depth of Ebinur Lake is only 1.4m, which is very sensitive to the amount of water entering the lake. Every time the amount of water entering the lake increases or decreases 1 100 million cubic meters, the lake will shrink by 80 square kilometers. In 2007, due to the general drought in Xinjiang, the once-expanded Ebinur Lake surface shrank again, the exposed area at the bottom of the lake was still expanding, and the sandstorm weather rose again.

In order to maintain the existing water level of Ebinur Lake, Bozhou saves more than 20 million cubic meters of water every year, and makes every effort to ensure that 600 million cubic meters of water is replenished into the lake every year. However, with the further development of social economy, the water resources in Bozhou will be more and more scarce. Xinhe Wang said helplessly, "Bozhou's limited water resources are far from meeting the annual supply of Ebinur Lake. The current situation has brought tremendous pressure on Bozhou to achieve sustainable social and economic development and the coordination of population, resources and environment. "

According to preliminary calculation, in order to completely cover the dry lake bottom with water injection and biologically control the surrounding salt desert, it is necessary to increase 654.38 billion cubic meters of water on the basis of the existing recharge.

Since 2004, Xinjiang has started the artificial water increase project in Ebinur Lake Basin, and established an artificial water increase operation area in the mountainous area of the upper reaches of Bortala River, the main river in Ebinur Lake Basin. In winter (12 to March of the following year) and summer (June to August), rockets and anti-aircraft guns are used to launch rain bombs to increase precipitation and replenish the amount of water entering the lake. The first phase of the project will be completed 20 10 years ago with an investment of 20 million yuan.

"Ebinur Lake Basin is rich in gaseous water, which attracts' water in the sky' and will effectively replenish the water in Ebinur Lake." The relevant person in charge of the meteorological department of the autonomous region introduced.

"In the long run, if we want to win the battle to protect the lake, we must put the water transfer project on the agenda." Xinhe Wang called for increasing the amount of water entering Ebinur Lake, expanding the lake surface, raising the groundwater level, and maintaining and developing the existing lakeside vegetation through inter-basin water transfer. "At present, the ecological deterioration of Ebinur Lake is much faster than the improvement of governance. The protection of Ebinur Lake Basin must mobilize all social forces and implement cross-regional and cross-industry coordinated operations. "
