Fault diagnosis and maintenance skills of water ring vacuum pump?

In the maintenance process, the fault diagnosis of water ring vacuum pump is a key link. 1, no liquid supply, insufficient liquid supply or insufficient pressure:

(1) The vacuum pump is not filled with water or properly drained;

Solution: Check whether the vacuum pump shell and inlet pipeline are full of liquid.

(2) the speed is too low;

Solution: Check whether the motor wiring is correct, the voltage is normal or the steam pressure of the steam turbine is normal.

(3) The system water head is too high;

Solution: Check the water head of the system (especially the friction loss).

(4) The suction range is too high;

Solution: Check the existing mesh head (too small or too long water inlet pipe will cause great friction loss).

5] Impeller or pipe blockage;

Solution: Check obstacles.

[6] The rotation direction is wrong;

Solution: Check the direction of rotation.

Once air or inlet pipe leaks;

Solution: Check the inlet pipe for cavitation and/or air leakage.

The packing or seal in the packing box is worn, resulting in air leakage into the vacuum pump housing;

Solution: Check the packing or seal and replace it as needed, and check whether the lubrication is normal.

Levies insufficient suction head when pumping hot or volatile liquid;

Solution: Increase the suction head and consult the manufacturer.

⑽ Bottom valve is too small;

Solution: Install the correct size bottom valve.

⑾ The immersion depth of bottom valve or inlet pipe is not enough;

Solution: Consult the manufacturer for the correct immersion depth. Use baffles to eliminate eddy currents.

⑿ Impeller clearance is too large;

Solution: Check whether the clearance is correct.

Solution: Check the impeller and replace it as needed.

[14] Impeller diameter is too small;

Solution: Ask the manufacturer for the correct impeller diameter.

⒂ Pressure gauge position is incorrect;

Solution: Check whether the position is correct, and check the outlet nozzle or pipeline.

2. Stop the vacuum pump after running for a while:

(1) suction range is too high;

Solution: Check the existing mesh head (too small or too long water inlet pipe will cause great friction loss).

2 Impeller or pipe blockage;

(3) air or inlet pipe leakage;

Solution: Check the inlet pipe for cavitation and/or air leakage.

(4) The packing or seal in the stuffing box is worn, and air leaks into the vacuum pump shell;

5] When pumping hot or volatile liquid, the suction head is insufficient;

Solution: Increase the suction head and consult the manufacturer.

[6] The immersion depth of the bottom valve or water inlet pipe is not enough;

Solution: Consult the manufacturer for the correct immersion depth and use baffle to eliminate eddy current.

Once the vacuum pump shell gasket is damaged;

Solution: Check the condition of the gasket and replace it as needed.

3. The power consumption of vacuum pump is too high;

(1) The rotation direction is wrong.

Solution: Check the direction of rotation.

⑵ Impeller damage

Solution: Check the impeller and replace it as needed.

(3) Bite the rotating part to death.

Solution: Check whether the clearance of internal worn parts is normal.

(4) Axis bending

Solution: Straighten the shaft or replace it as needed.

5] The speed is too high.

Solution: Check the winding voltage of the motor or the steam pressure delivered to the steam turbine.

[6] The water head is lower than the rated value. Pump in too much liquid

Solution: Consult the manufacturer. Install the throttle valve and cut the impeller.

Once the liquid is heavier than expected.

Solution: Check the specific gravity and viscosity.

The stuffing box has no suitable stuffing (insufficient stuffing, incorrect stuffing or running-in, too tight stuffing).

Solution: Check the stuffing and refill the stuffing box.

Levies bearing lubrication is incorrect or bearing wear.

Solution: Check and replace as needed.

⑽ The running clearance between wear rings is incorrect.

Solution: Check whether the clearance is correct. Replace the wear ring of the vacuum pump housing and/or impeller as required.

⑾ The stress of the pipeline on the vacuum pump shell is too great.

Solution: Eliminate stress and consult the manufacturer's representative. After stress relief, check the alignment.

4. The stuffing box of vacuum pump leaks too much.

(1) axis bending

Solution: Straighten the shaft or replace it as needed.

(2) The coupling or vacuum pump is not aligned with the driving device.

Solution: Check the alignment and realign if necessary.

(3) Bearing lubrication is incorrect or bearing is worn.

Solution: Check and replace as needed.

5, bearing temperature is too high.

(1) axis bending

Solution: Straighten the shaft or replace it as needed.

(2) The coupling or vacuum pump is not aligned with the driving device.

Solution: Check the alignment and realign if necessary.

(3) Bearing lubrication is incorrect or bearing is worn.

Solution: Check and replace as needed.

(4) The stress of the pipeline on the vacuum pump shell is too large.

Solution: Eliminate stress and consult the manufacturer's representative. After stress relief, check the alignment.

5] Too much lubricant.

Solution: Remove the plug and let the excess grease be discharged automatically. If it is an oil-lubricated vacuum pump, drain the oil to the correct oil level.

6. The stuffing box is overheated

(1) The packing or seal in the stuffing box is worn, and air leaks into the vacuum pump housing.

Solution: Check the packing or seal and replace it as needed. Check whether the lubrication is normal.

⑵ Improper filling of stuffing box (insufficient stuffing, incorrect stuffing or running-in, too tight stuffing).

Solution: Check the stuffing and refill the stuffing box.

(3) The packing or mechanical seal has design problems.

Solution: Consult the manufacturer.

(4) Mechanical seal is damaged

Solution: Check and replace as needed. Consult the manufacturer.

5] Shaft sleeve scratch

Solution: Repair, rework or replace as needed.

[6] The packing is too tight or the mechanical seal is improperly adjusted.

Solution: Check and adjust the packing, and replace or adjust the mechanical seal as needed (refer to the instruction manual or call our factory).

7. Rotating parts are difficult to rotate or have friction.

(1) axis bending

Solution: Straighten the shaft or replace it as needed.

⑵ The running clearance between wear rings is incorrect.

Solution: Check whether the clearance is correct. Replace the wear ring of the vacuum pump housing or impeller as required.

(3) The stress of the pipeline on the vacuum pump shell is too large.

Solution: Eliminate stress and consult the manufacturer's representative. After stress relief, check the alignment.

(4) The shaft or impeller ring swings too much.

Solution: Check the rotating parts and bearings, and replace the worn or damaged parts as needed.

5] There is dirt between the impeller and the wear ring of the vacuum pump housing, and there is dirt in the wear ring of the vacuum pump housing.

Solution: Clean and check the wear ring and replace it as needed. Isolate and eliminate the source of dirt.
