What is a silicone replica?

Silicone replica is generally used for small batch trial production before R&D, mainly for a process introduced by R&D team. Its process includes: shorter production cycle, lower price than hand board, adjustable and diversified production, which can be used to make plastic parts and soft glue, greatly helping the team to reduce the problems after mold opening.

The following is the production method of silica gel replica;

1. First, fill 500g of glue in a plastic bowl, add curing agent 1.5% at room temperature, and fully stir evenly for later use.

2. Lubricate the master mold blank with release agent.

3. The lubricated mother blank is surrounded by battens, and the battens are also treated with release agent, with a gap of 2-4 cm.

4. Pour the prepared glue slowly along the fixed pouring point, and shake it from time to time to eliminate the air inside.

5. 60 minutes after the glue is completely cured, enclose it with wooden strips, leave a gap of 4cm, and remove the logs.

6. Inject silica gel into the wooden frame. Until it is filled (the wooden frame should be divided into two parts with plastic sheets to facilitate formwork removal).

7.20 minutes later, the slats were removed, and the simple mold was completed.
