Yangzhou Slow: the Treasure Box in the Ancient City

Put a Xinhua Bookstore and its affiliated rooms in the old city of Yangzhou.

Treasures in bookstores, homestays, exhibitions, conferences and tea rooms.

Yangzhou with a history of more than 2,500 years.

It used to be the most prosperous city in China.

Xinhua Bookstore on Guoqing Road, established on June 28th, 1949.

It is the first Xinhua Bookstore in Yangzhou.

Its predecessor was the "Jianguo Bookstore" in the former Republic of China.

Be taken over after liberation

After 70 years of development

Xinhua Bookstore on National Day Road bears the memories of several generations.

Xinhua Bookstore acquired by Wutopia Lab is a street building.

Six buildings are embedded in the texture of the old city.

Wutopia Lab integrates them into a related group.

Named "Yangzhou Slow"

This Yangzhou Slow is composed of four treasure boxes.

The first box is Xinhua Bookstore.

1. 1 Changgong Bookstore is the lightest white box.

The main tone of Guoqing Road is gray and heavy.

I think since we can't change the facade,

I was inspired by the design of "Igong"

The children's library on the second floor is an upgraded version of Yougong Bookstore.

2. 1 Living in Poetry

Two small buildings in the backyard of Xinhua Bookstore have been transformed into a homestay and a * * * enjoyment hall.

Pass through the landscape window, flower brick wall and moon gate of the courtyard.

You can see ancient cities with different colors and textures.

They tried to squeeze in.

But it's blocked

Many thoughts and memories will come to mind.

This empty box is the center of the whole project.
