Introduction of Karamay Petrochemical Company

From the early days of its establishment to the end of 1970s, with tenacious fighting spirit and extraordinary courage, workers developed and produced a large number of oil products urgently needed by the country, such as axle oil, gasoline engine oil, transformer oil, refrigeration engine oil, etc., under extremely poor equipment and living conditions. In the mid-1980s, Tangke Shihua Company seized the opportunity of large-scale exploitation of heavy oil in Karamay, and timely expanded and reformed the production equipment according to the requirements of local processing of heavy oil at that time, and actively carried out product research and development and trial processing of heavy oil. With the strong support and cordial care of the leaders of the autonomous region, PetroChina, joint-stock companies and municipal bureaus, Karamay Petrochemical Company has developed its processing scale from several hundred thousand tons to 5 million tons/year after more than 40 years of development, and its strength has been greatly enhanced. The company has 38 sets of main equipment and fixed assets of 3.828 billion yuan. The processing capacity of heavy oil is 3 million tons/year. Since 1980s, the company has independently processed heavy oil and accumulated mature experience in solving naphthenic acid corrosion of heavy oil with high acid value. At present, the start-up period of heavy oil processing has reached two years, and the main unit will be overhauled for the first time in 2006 after three years of continuous operation, and the operation level has created the leading level in domestic petrochemical industry. 1997, the group company renamed Karamay Refinery as Karamay Petrochemical Plant, and in May of 20001,it was placed under the direct management of the joint-stock company and renamed as "Karamay Petrochemical Company of China Petroleum and Natural Gas Co., Ltd.".

In the production of light oil, efforts should be made to increase the ratio of diesel to gasoline and increase the output of high-quality clean and environmentally friendly gasoline and low pour point diesel. In the aspect of lubricating oil production, a large number of high-quality low-freezing point lubricating oil products have been developed and produced, with a production capacity of 400,000 tons/year. Transformer oil and refrigeration oil occupy a dominant position in the domestic market and also have a certain influence in the international market. The company's asphalt production adopts the most advanced and optimal technical routes and means in China, with a production capacity of 500,000 tons/year. The quality of heavy traffic road asphalt is leading in the country and is well received by the market. Products are in short supply, and have become the designated first choice products in many provinces and regions in the west, making positive contributions to the construction of high-grade highways in the west.

At present, the company can produce 160 kinds of petrochemical products, 40 kinds of leading products, and 28 kinds of products have won the title of provincial and ministerial excellent products. Five products, including L-DRA/A46 refrigerator oil, won the national silver award. In 2003, naphthenic rubber oil products were rated as "National Customer Satisfaction Products" by china association for quality, "Xinjiang Famous Brand Products" by the autonomous region in 2003, and pterosaur brand naphthenic oil series products were awarded the title of "China Petroleum Quality Products" by the group company.

The company maintains the honorary title of "Civilized Unit" in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region 1 1 year. In 2003, it was awarded the honorary title of "Enterprise that abides by contracts and keeps promises" by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the certificate of "Developing and Building Xinjiang" by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Federation of Trade Unions, the "May 1st Labor Award" by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the "Excellent Enterprise in Quality Management in 2003-2004" by the group company and the Credit Committee of China Market Society.
