Bi's historical background

From August, 35 to the end of 37, he served as the president of Bengbu Higher Industrial College (in 36, the school moved to Huainan, renamed Anhui Provincial Industrial College, and was dissolved in 1948). February 38-195 1, Professor of Jiangnan University, giving lectures on electronic principles, electronics, radio and applied mechanics.

That year, People's Republic of China (PRC) the State Council appointed him as the deputy director of Xi 'an Power Research Institute. 1956 12 1 was elected as the representative of the second people's congress of Xi. 1958 was transferred to the vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and was hired as a national second-class professor.

1On September 28th, 959, Shouxian People's Court sentenced him to 5 years' imprisonment for the crime of "counter-revolution", which was executed outside prison. 1962 went back to Shanghai and worked in the alley. He died in Shanghai on 197 1.

1978, after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the document Shouxing Jianzi (86) 1 10 of Shouxian County Court claimed: "The original judgment on Bi's counter-revolutionary crime was improper and should be corrected." "Revoke (59) the criminal judgment No.597 of the Law and Punishment Chu Zi."

Bi has been engaged in education all his life and loves education. He founded five schools and served as a professor in colleges and universities. He has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the motherland and is a vocational educator.

Mr. Bi was born in Shouxian County, Anhui Province, and was born in a famous family. He was smart and studious since childhood and received a good family education. His father, Bi Jingbo, was a member of the League and participated in the Revolution of 1911. He is one of the revolutionary troops in Huai Shang. After graduating from high school, Bi was admitted to East Asia University in Japan with excellent results and studied electrical engineering at public expense. 1922 master's degree. In order to realize the ideal of saving the country through science and education, he went to the University of London to study telecommunications engineering in August 1935, and then entered the Marconi Radio Institute of Chiming in Britain to study radio and obtained a master's degree. At the beginning of the last century, Bi went abroad twice to study the cutting-edge science and technology major at that time, and became one of the first well-known scholars who returned to China in our province and even the whole country. After returning from abroad, he deeply realized that the biggest gap between China and the West is the backwardness of culture and education, so he devoted himself more firmly to the education of the motherland. From 65438 to 0937, Mr. Bi returned to the motherland, which coincided with the full-scale invasion of China by the Japanese army, the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the outbreak of bonfires and the national disaster. With the fervent heart of saving the country through education, he taught in many middle schools and universities in the rear area, and served as a teacher, lecturer, professor, dean and principal. While imparting the latest scientific and technological knowledge, he actively promoted anti-Japanese, and encouraged and supported students to actively participate in the anti-Japanese ranks. 1945 The people of China finally won the great victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. However, the sacrifices and losses paid by our disaster-stricken Chinese nation for this victory are the heaviest and unprecedented in the history of world wars. 14 The War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression from "September 18th" to "July 7th Incident" shattered China's mountains and rivers, leaving people in dire straits. To save the country by industry, we must first develop education, especially the urgent need to train a large number of scientific and technological talents. At that time, many universities in Shanghai, Nanjing, Taiwan Province and other provinces hired Mr. Bi with high salaries, especially in Taiwan Province Province, and promised important positions such as department heads and deans. But he declined one by one and resolutely chose to return to his hometown of Anhui. 1In July, 946, Mr. Bi accepted the appointment of Anhui Provincial Department of Education as the principal of Anhui Bengbu Senior Industrial Vocational School, which was on the verge of disintegration. After taking over, he immediately took effective measures to raise funds, hire more teachers, expand school buildings and equipment, and add three five-year majors of civil engineering, machinery and electricity on the original basis, which made a new breakthrough in the level and scale of running a school and laid the foundation for establishing a complete industrial college. With the support of Anhui local elites, President Bi actively planned and proposed to upgrade the vocational school to a provincial industrial college, and held the first meeting of the preparatory committee of Anhui provincial industrial college on March 1947, with President Bi as the vice chairman. The meeting adopted the plan for the establishment of the technical college and the purpose, principles and ideas of running the school proposed by President Bi. In May of the same year, with the approval of the superior, Anhui Provincial Institute of Technology was formally established and served as the president. Since then, it has filled the gap in the history of Anhui province that there are no higher engineering colleges, which is a contribution of Professor Bi to the education in his hometown. In order to raise funds for running a school, build an educational practice base, and consider the further development in the future, President Bi, with the help of people of insight in the society, carefully planned, ran around and coordinated in many ways, resolutely decided to move the school to Dongshan, Huainan from June 65438 to June 0947. In this way, the operation and development of the school can directly rely on the support of Huainan Iron Mine Bureau. Today's people may not believe that Dongshan was deserted at that time, with only an abandoned ore yard and dozens of dilapidated workshops, while there were almost nothing for teaching, equipment and living facilities. Facing the challenge of starting a business, President Bi's burden is heavy and difficult, which is unimaginable to ordinary people. That's right. Dongshan is still in the hinterland, with inconvenient transportation and poor and backward surrounding environment. Faced with all kinds of material difficulties, teachers and students, especially those professors who are used to city life, have the courage to overcome them under the leadership of President Bi. What's more, the war of liberation is surging, overwhelming both sides of the Huaihe River. The extremely unstable situation in Huainan makes it more difficult to recruit teachers, especially famous teachers. Only the respectable and lovely President Bi tried his best to use all social relations, went out in person, ran around here and there, and traveled between Beijing and Shanghai day and night. With sincere kindness and loyalty, he invited eight famous professors and 10 associate professors from Beijing, Shanghai and other cities. This kind of teaching staff has not only increased the number of school teachers, but also made a qualitative leap. In the six months of preparing for the establishment of the provincial college, President Bi set an example by example. He not only made great efforts, but also was good at uniting colleagues and mobilizing teachers and students to overcome one difficulty after another. The total foundation area of the school is more than 300 mu, 44 old houses have been repaired, 58 new houses have been built, 46 old houses have been allocated as student dormitories, and 4 large kitchens have been built. Then a teaching building (1 1 classroom), an auditorium and a machine factory were built in the newly-built area. The total area of the above new and old houses is about 7000 square meters. It took only three months from planning to fact to complete a series of projects such as renovation and addition, thus ensuring the smooth opening of the 65438+1October 2 1 Technical College in that year. At this time, in addition to the original three majors, the school added a preparatory class *** 1 1 class with 425 students. It is difficult to start a business, and it is even harder to keep it. Anhui Provincial Institute of Engineering was established, and its scale expanded, and the number of teachers and students increased. However, the problem of serious shortage of funds has been placed in front of entrepreneurs. The old provincial government was busy with the civil war and allocated little education funds. 80% is raised by the school itself. President Bi really racked his brains. The only thing he can do is to use his social reputation to raise money everywhere and ask for help from all directions until he takes the lead in donating money. Anhui Provincial Institute of Technology has been short of "milk" since its birth, and is called a provincial organ. Actually, official people help. It is under such difficult conditions that President Bi still insists on providing free meals for all students. It can be seen that it was very difficult for President Bi to raise huge sums of money when the society was in turmoil and the people were unstable.

While paying attention to the construction and management of the new school, President Bi attaches great importance to the construction of teaching quality, school spirit and study style. In order to ensure the quality of teaching, he chose undergraduate textbooks, requiring professors to take both basic courses and major courses. He takes the lead in his own class, and sometimes the teacher will ask for leave for some reason. Whether it is a basic course or a related professional course, he will immediately make up lessons for others. Because of his deep learning and profound knowledge, his lessons are vivid and simple, and students can easily understand and remember them. Students especially like to listen to his classes. President Bi's profound academic foundation and superb lecture art not only make every student admire and admire for life, but also make his peers admire and admire. When studying in Japan, Professor Bi encouraged himself like this: "Those who can support themselves are precious, and those who are useful to the world are respected". Therefore, he asked all students to work hard first, paying special attention to moral education, and asked students to start with generous and decent manners, determined to become talents, and strive for the rise of China. 1949 After the liberation of southern Jiangsu in April, Bi was invited to teach at Jiangnan University in Wuxi, and was soon appointed as the provost. 1950 served as vice president of Sunan Institute of Technology, and later the school moved to Xi 'an and was upgraded to Xi 'an Electric Power Institute. Bi was the vice president of the college and later merged with Jiao Tong University. Bi was the vice president of Jiaotong University. As a representative of Jiaotong University, he attended the national symposium on the adjustment of colleges and universities presided over by Premier Zhou. Professor Bi, who is over 1958, is sickly. He resigned from school and asked to concentrate on teaching. In March of that year, he was transferred to the Department of Electrical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University as a professor.

1956, graduated and joined the Jiu San Society.

President Bi was dismissed for strongly opposing the farce of the relocation of the reactionary Kuomintang government and lost the opportunity to return to school in time. Shortly after the liberation of southern Jiangsu, he was invited to work in Jiangnan University. Sadly, in 1959, the court in Shouxian County, Professor Bi's hometown, made a wrong judgment and deprived him of the education he loved all his life. Due to the persecution of the Cultural Revolution, the plight of life and mental torture, the old educator Bi failed to see the dawn of the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of China Producers' Party. Unfortunately, he died in Shanghai in June of 197 1 at the age of 77. 1986, the Shouxian court and the Party Committee of Shanghai Jiaotong University respectively made a decision to rehabilitate and correct Professor Bi. The newly revised Shouxian County Chronicle says: "Bi is good at science and engineering, with a high literary accomplishment, and has published many insightful papers, poems and works on the principles of electrotechnics (referring to the persecution and" mass dictatorship "of Bi during the Cultural Revolution, but he wrote" Self-study on the Principles of Electrotechnics "-the manuscript failed to be published). He has served as a professor and president in colleges and universities, and his motherland has not suffered serious disasters, which has trained a large number of outstanding talents for Anhui. When Mr. Bi was critically ill, he left a message: "I want to do lifelong education. I sacrifice a person, which is good for the cause of the party, and I don't complain when I die. "Yes, although the conclusion of" Hometown County Records "is dead, Mr. Bi's heroism will be gratified by the affection and respect of the people in his hometown.
