Rehaultham S heating pipe is made of oxygen barrier layer composed of high-density crosslinked polyethylene (PE-Xa) and polyvinyl alcohol (EVOH) by twin-screw extrusion process, so the crosslinking uniformity is better than that of piston/single-screw extrusion process.

PE-Xa is the basic material of Lautham heating pipeline, which is made by peroxide crosslinking (Engel method). The cross-linking process of this method is that under high temperature and high pressure, cross-linking reaction occurs with peroxide, and single polyethylene long chain molecules are chemically connected to form a three-dimensional network chemical structure, which significantly enhances the physical and mechanical properties of polyethylene. Compared with ordinary polyethylene, it improves a series of physical and chemical properties of polyethylene, such as tensile strength, thermal strength, aging resistance, dimensional stability, stress cracking resistance and chemical resistance.

The EVOH oxygen barrier layer extruded together with the cross-linked polyethylene pipe is the polymer with the best barrier effect, which is far higher than the oxygen permeability requirement stipulated in the German DIN4726 standard. There is an adhesive layer with strong adhesion between the cross-linked polyethylene pipeline and the oxygen barrier layer. The water-insoluble EVOH oxygen barrier layer enhances the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the pipeline. Types and comparison of crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) pipes

According to the different production processes of crosslinked polyethylene pipes, they can be divided into peroxide crosslinking (PE-Xa), silane crosslinking (PE-Xb) and radiation crosslinking (PE-Xc).

Peroxide crosslinking (PE-XA): a production process developed in 1970s. Peroxide crosslinking is the decomposition of peroxide mixed in polyethylene into free radicals during extrusion, which leads to the formation of active free radicals in polyethylene polymer chains and crosslinking. Electron beam crosslinking (PE-Xc): It first started in the United States in 1955, and the crosslinking reaction was carried out by physical methods. Physical methods are characterized by the use of external radiation sources, usually using electron beams (B-rays) generated by large accelerators in production. Polyethylene with a thickness of 0.55-65 and 438+0-3 mm needs 0.55-0 MeV energy respectively. Its main advantage is that it belongs to post-crosslinking technology, but its disadvantage is limited crosslinking depth.
