Legal Analysis: Private detectives have no legal status in China. At present, no private detective company has obtained a business license issued by the industrial and commercial department, and the procedural law does not stipulate that individual citizens have the right to investigate. Civil law regulates the personal relations and property relations among natural persons, legal persons and unincorporated organizations as equal subjects.
