Xi 'an University of Architecture and Technology, referred to as "Xijian University" for short, is located in the ancient capital of Xi 'an. One of the famous "Old Eight Schools of Architecture" in China and the key construction of the former People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Metallurgy. The school is a university established by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, a national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest", the first batch of "Excellence Plan" of the country and a national innovative educational institution for engineering postgraduates.
