Shantou University School of Medicine, located in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is a secondary college of Shantou University and the only medical education institution in eastern Guangdong.

The predecessor of the college can be traced back to Chaozhou Obstetrics Training College, which was established in 1924. Shantou Obstetrics School, Shantou Senior Midwifery Vocational School, Shantou Senior Midwifery Technical School, Shantou Health Technical School, Guangdong Seventh Health School, Shantou Health School and Shantou Medical College have been renamed and reorganized several times.

1September 1983 was approved by the State Council, merged into Shantou University, and upgraded to Shantou University Medical College; From August 65438 to August 0990, graduate students began to enroll students; 1authorization of doctor's degree in June, 998.
