How to work in the United Nations?

introduce

As a global organization, in order to play its role effectively, the United Nations Secretariat constantly needs qualified and dedicated staff to fill vacancies. Although it is impossible to list the different types of positions recruited by the organization in detail, this profile shows the main categories and jobs of the staff of the organization.

The Charter of the United Nations stipulates the principle of equality between men and women in the recruitment of all staff. Therefore, the General Assembly has formulated clear instructions aimed at encouraging the appointment of women to professional posts as a major objective of the recruitment policy, with a view to achieving a more equitable balance between male and female staff in the Secretariat. The United Nations also welcomes more female experts and consultants to participate in United Nations technical cooperation programmes.

Since the retirement age of staff appointed after 1990 1 is 62 years old, the general policy of the United Nations is not to appoint people who have reached or are close to 62 years old. However, this provision does not apply to experts and consultants in technical cooperation programmes.

If you want to be considered as a possible candidate after reading this information, you must send a brief introduction of your education and work experience to the address indicated at the end of each section.
