History of Shanghai Qingpu District Central Hospital

Shanghai Qingpu District Central Hospital was established in 1948, formerly known as Qingpu Branch Hospital of China Red Cross Society. After more than half a century's efforts, it has become a comprehensive hospital in Qingpu integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and prevention.

1994 has passed the evaluation of People's Republic of China (PRC) second-class first-class hospital and Ministry of Health. 1995 was recognized as a baby-friendly hospital by the World Health Organization (WHO). Since 1998, it has been rated as a civilized unit in Shanghai for five consecutive years. 1999 was rated as one of the top ten characteristic bases for caring for the elderly in Shanghai, and in 2003, it was rated as a designated hospital for Taiwanese businessmen in Qingpu District. The hospital has been awarded the titles of "Five Good Party Branches, Six Good Party Committees and Advanced Units of Ideological and Political Work in Qingpu District".

From June 5438 to October 5, 2002, Qingpu District Health Bureau and Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University jointly established Qingpu Branch of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University and Shanghai Qingpu District Central Hospital.
