3. Professional advantages and disadvantages analysis and learning experience

From a professional point of view, printmaking is another scene. Printmaking is a pure art major, with great emphasis on technology and strong professionalism. Without systematic study, it is almost impossible to make any prints. Students majoring in printmaking can do design, book binding, animation, image, behavior, installation, sculpture and oil painting. However, these students of other majors are not allowed to publish paintings. This is the advantage. Generally speaking, printmaking is a wonderful specialty between design and modeling. Compared with students majoring in design, students from printmaking have stronger modeling ability, and students from printmaking have more design thinking than students majoring in traditional painting. However, it also has disadvantages. First of all, the printing process is highly dependent on machines, and printing is inseparable from machines (except woodcut). The second is the huge physical and mental consumption and high physical quality. Many domestic machinery and raw materials and equipment can't be compared with those of foreign countries, and they need a lot of protection and extra care in the production process. These skills will affect your subjective feelings about the object you are painting, and a lot of subjective feelings will be lost in the picture, which is an extremely important part of the work. The study and working environment of our future life is mostly related to art or design. Your independent thinking and sensitive emotions will be your greatest help. These feelings I got after I went to college are the views I want to convey to my brothers and sisters. Teachers in the Academy of Fine Arts don't want machines with good painting skills, they prefer you with feelings.

Four years of undergraduate course is actually a very short time for printmaking major, and one and a half years is used to "save" students' thinking and pull us out of the art test mode. Then one and a half years' study of basic printmaking techniques, interspersed with creative courses, helps students get used to creative thinking. The last year is used for graduation creation, which largely represents your own four years of study and harvest, and should be regarded as the most important part in the university.

Since my first sketch class, my personal painting style has gradually emerged: it is a kind of extensive, concise and highly linear color. With the deepening of research, these characteristics are more distinct in my pictures, especially in the subsequent sketching, I found the most suitable expression, and continued this extensive and intense expression, which prompted me to make a series of works. This is the formation and expression of a subjective emotion, which is very precious. Many accidents will happen in the creation, and the problems will be solved slowly. When the picture is getting closer to the desired effect, the more you cherish the future time, the more you want to do better. 3. Where is our future?

The development of image art, the creation of science and technology, and the renewal of ideas, including the blurring of artistic categories, have had a great impact on printmaking, and even changed the development of printmaking. The traditional print market is in the ascendant. With the deepening of the public's understanding of printmaking, printmaking art is more and more accepted by the public, and the industrialization of printmaking is also accelerating.

After graduation, in addition to the job destination described in the above table, most graduates basically choose four paths: free entrepreneurship, postgraduate entrance examination, going abroad and freelance artists.

A small number of graduates will choose to stay in school as resident artists and continue their artistic creation. Take our students majoring in printmaking as an example, the proportion of self-employment and postgraduate entrance examination is relatively large, while the direction of printmaking and printing is more to enter the company. Most of the students around me didn't continue to do printmaking-related industries except those who were admitted to the graduate school of printmaking, but it depends on their professional direction and their conditional interests. There are so many variables that there is no direct standard to refer to. As mentioned above, one of the great defects of printmaking is that it relies too much on machines. At present, there are only a few specialized printmaking studios in China. This is a very realistic problem. Each version needs different machines, and the price of each machine is beyond our recent graduates' affordability, so it is very common for us students to switch to other things. But don't worry too much. I feel that after studying printmaking for four years, it is still useless in the end. Actually, it's not.

Four years' printmaking study has exerted a subtle influence on us, and has made great breakthroughs in the way of thinking and creation. As mentioned earlier, students majoring in printmaking have incomparable advantages over other majors. You can engage in many industries after graduation, and you should firmly believe in the advantages and self-confidence brought by printmaking specialty. The most real example is that companies like Netease and Tencent come to our school every year to recruit designers like original paintings, and they are more inclined to professional printmaking students. No matter what the result of your study is, everything you experience will be your future nutrition.
