What color is the land in Chongqing?

The soil in Chongqing is mainly yellow and red.

Chongqing has a vast territory. From the latitude range, zonal soil is yellow soil and red soil formed in subtropical humid monsoon climate. However, the natural soil-forming conditions of the city are quite complicated: first, the landform conditions are complex, including large areas of low-middle mountains and deep valleys, broad hills and flat dams, high mountains and deep valleys, and uneven terrain. This redistributes the hydrothermal conditions in China to a great extent, resulting in obvious vertical changes and regional differences in soil-forming factors such as climate and biology. Secondly, most of the surface is exposed from pre-Sinian to Quaternary, with complex lithology and diverse parent materials. In addition, the difference between hydrogeological conditions and human production and utilization forms makes the soil-forming conditions more complicated, which leads to the diversification of soil types in this city. According to statistics, there are 5 soil types, 9 soil classes, 17 subcategories, more than 40 soil genera, and more than 100 soil species, with many varieties. Numerous soil types provide conditions for the diversification of agricultural utilization forms in our city. The five soil categories and nine soil categories are:

Red soil and yellow soil of Fe-Al soil.

Leaching soil is yellow brown soil and brown soil.

Semi-humid mountain meadow soil

Purple soil, lime (rock) soil and newly accumulated soil in primary soil.

Artificial paddy soil
