Du Xiang District of Xingtai City is a municipal district and does not belong to other districts.

Du Xiang District is the seat of the party, government and military organs in Xingtai City and the birthplace of Xiang Xing culture. Since ancient times, the administrative system has not been interrupted, and the city site has not been moved. A number of cultural relics and historic sites, such as the ancient city of Xingtai, Kaiyuan Temple in Xingtai and Qingfeng Building in Xingtai, have been preserved. It is the source of Xingtai's history and culture, the origin of urban construction and the main bearing area of Xingtai's famous historical and cultural city.

Historical evolution:

In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), the abandoned government went out of the county, and Xingtai counties belonged to Jinan Road in Zhili.

In the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937)1October15th, Japan occupied Xingtai and set up a pseudo-Shunde Road.

In August of the thirty-fourth year of the Republic of China (1945), the Japanese aggressors declared unconditional surrender. On September 24th of the same year, Xingtai was liberated. On September 25th of the same year, Xingtai County was established.

1981April, with the approval of the State Council, Qiaodong District of Xingtai City was established.

In June 2020, the State Council approved Hebei Province to adjust some administrative divisions of Xingtai City: it agreed that Qiaodong District of Xingtai City was renamed as Du Xiang District, and Du Xiang District People's Government was located at No.229 Shunde Road, Nanchang Street. It is agreed to cancel Xingtai County and put Yurangqiao Street, Yanjiatun Town, Zhucun Town and East Wang Zhen of Xingtai County under the jurisdiction of Du Xiang District.
