Why is Ningde called Jiaocheng?

During the Ming Dynasty, the area was built of pure stone, hence the name Jiaocheng, which means "as solid as a rock".

Ningde city is called Jiaocheng, because in the Ming Dynasty, the area was built with pure stone, so it was named Jiaocheng, which means "as solid as a rock". However, in the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939), Jiaoxian was demolished, and the town outside the original city, also known as Jiaocheng, was built the following year. Judging from the cadastral map of Ningde County drawn in 32 years (1943), it seems that the area is long from north to south and narrow from east to west, which looks like a banana leaf, so it was renamed Jiaocheng.
