How do Chinese mainland residents work in Hong Kong?

There are three ways for Chinese mainland residents to come to work in Hong Kong: the Hong Kong Labour Importation Scheme, the Mainland Talents Admission Scheme, and arrangements for non-local graduates to stay/return to work in Hong Kong.

Applications for admission to Hong Kong for employment under the Admission of Mainland Talents Scheme may be considered for approval if they meet the following criteria:

1. Reject the application without security reasons, and the applicant has no known serious criminal record;

2. The applicant has a good educational background, usually referring to the relevant bachelor's degree, but under special circumstances, it is acceptable to have good technical qualifications, proven professional ability and/or documented relevant experience and achievements;

3. There are indeed vacancies in Hong Kong companies;

4. Applicants must have been truly employed, and the work they are engaged in must be related to their academic qualifications or work experience, and they cannot be easily employed by themselves;

5. Wages and benefits (including income, housing, medical care and other fringe benefits) should be basically the same as those of local professionals at that time.
