The arcades in the old Sanbu area are mainly distributed in Dihai and Xinchang, especially Xinchang, which is much larger than Dihai.

When I was a child, Xinchang was mainly a long The street runs from west to east, from the East River connecting Dihai, like a long ribbon, winding along the Tanjiang River, all the way to Xinchangwei, which is Tongxing Road, connecting Taishan.

At that time, Xinchangbu was very popular, and the shops in each section of the street had certain functional differences.

Starting from Donghe Main Street, it is the only "Youth Cinema" in Kaiping at the beginning of Donghe Road. When I was a child, I could watch a movie for just a few cents. I still remember the scene now. , huge crowds of people, and it was our only entertainment at that time!

Now there are no traces of the cinema from those days!

Walk past the small factories on Donghe Road and Xiqiao Road, or the parallel old residential area of ??Wuxi Road, and come to Xinhua Road and Xinhua Back Street, as well as Zhonghua Road, Yongfu Road and Yongfu Back Street.

When walking in Xinchang, "Xinchang Park" must be mentioned. From childhood to now, it has been constantly changing and is no longer what it used to be, but the most profound thing is the happiness of childhood!

After passing Xinchang Park, the "Kaiping Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital" we see now is actually the location of the former "Kaiping People's Hospital".

Walking into Xinhua Back Street, a strong smell of fireworks hit your face. This place was once bustling, and the earliest individual clothing sales market in Kaiping was opened here.

Turning back from Xinhua Back Street to the main street is Xinhua Road. There used to be a two-story "Xinchang State-owned Department Store" here. Building" was also the largest and only department store in Kaiping at that time.

As well as a photo studio, a cloth shop, a drug store, a herbal tea shop, and Xinhua Bookstore on the same street. There was no individual economy at that time. These were all The only state-owned store, people's daily necessities are all purchased from this street.

The name of this "Landscape Photo Studio" has not changed, but after decades, the sign is no longer what it was back then, and it has been closed.

However, the experience of taking pictures in my childhood is still vivid in my mind. At that time, taking pictures was also a luxury consumption. Sometimes, it is rare to take a family photo, or a school graduation photo, etc...

When I was in elementary school, I spent most of my time running to Xinhua Bookstore. I liked to buy comic books with my pocket money, so Now I still have many complete sets of comics in my collection.

Nowadays, the shops above have basically changed with the changes of the times, but there are still one or two that survive tenaciously to this day, giving the old neighbors a place to place their feelings, such as "Lee Shop" "For the People" herbal tea shop.

I remember when I was a child and had a fever at night, adults would go to the "Gongchang" state-owned pharmacy on this street to buy medicine. The pharmacy is closed in the middle of the night, but there are people on duty, and people buy medicines and pass them through the small window in the door.

When we come to Tongxing Road, this section of the street is mainly a school area. The first school for most children at that time was "Dade Primary School", which is the school that is most remembered by the old three towns.

Sanbu Dade Primary School was founded in 1919 with donations from the overseas Chinese Zhen family. It has a history of more than 100 years. The school is located at No. 95 Tongxing Road, Xinchang, Sanbu. In 1993, it was rated as a first-class school in Guangdong Province and is a key primary school in Kaiping City.

At that time, most children in Sanbu started studying at Dade Elementary School, which was my elementary school alma mater.

I remember the first time I went on stage to tell a story and won an award. Now that I think about it, it was still very glorious!

The "Jinsheng" Lion Drum Shop on Yongfu Road in Xinchang was already famous when I was a child! Founded in 1888, it was included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage Catalog of Guangdong Province in the 1990s.

I lived across from this church when I was a child. I remember playing in the street with many friends at that time like it was yesterday.

Of course, there are many, many childhood memories that have gradually faded into the trivialities of life, and there may be other Laosanbu who have different childhood experiences.

Whenever the night falls, that scene will reappear in our minds, lingering for a long time.

As time goes by, time has dulled our spirit, and life has rounded our edges. As middle-aged people, no matter how things change, time cannot erase the marks engraved in our memories.

The arcades in Sanbu Xinchang were built earlier, and many arcades are now approaching or exceeding a hundred years old.
