The past of "our factory"

My mother is from Heilongjiang and my father is from Jiangsu. They are college classmates. After graduation, they came to Shenyang together and were assigned to the arsenal in the northeast suburb of the city, code-named "724". In the 1980s, in its heyday, "724" was a factory with 10,000 people and could have hundreds of thousands of family members. "724" built its own family building, with its own nursery, kindergarten and ten primary and secondary schools! We have our own shops, hospitals and guest houses. The whole society is a small society. My brother and I were born and raised here, and both went to children's primary and secondary schools. We didn't go to social school until we went to high school. In fact, there is an ordinary high school and a vocational high school in 724, and the teaching quality is average. So most of the children in 724 will go out to study in high school. Ten years ago, I lived in 724.

724 people are used to saying "our factory" and "our factory"; Factories and schools do not rest on Sundays, but on Thursdays. The days of the week in our mouths are different from those outside. We call serious Sunday social Sunday. At some point, why is it a bit like heaven?

I lived in 724 for more than 30 years, and my best friend once lived here. They have only moved out in recent years, but our parents still live in 724, and we have too many memories here.

1, "Our factory is bigger than Jinzhou"?

Thirty years ago, I went to college in Jinzhou. Just a few days after I went to college, I offended the fifth person in the dormitory. The fifth person is the head of the dormitory, from Jinzhou. When we were chatting together, I said, "Our factory is so big that it should be bigger than Jinzhou!"

I don't blame that young man for being angry. You really need to be beaten for talking like that! In fact, Jinzhou is much bigger than our factory! Besides being angry, the old five is puzzled. She doesn't understand why I speak in such a big tone, as if the factory is my home! In fact, this is just a very common Shenyang dialect! Just like it was strange when I first heard that all the endings in Jinzhou dialect were rising.

2. What is the secret of secrecy?

724 is an arsenal under the national five-level department. The factory has at least two gates, one is the main gate and the other is the west gate. In the early years, soldiers stood guard, and workers in the factory had to get a work permit before they could enter. Our children didn't go in several times. I remember when I was a child, my mother wanted to take me in, so she took me and my colleagues to observe at the gate. When they saw a big car coming out or going in, they quickly pulled me in.

We children have been receiving confidential education since school, especially when we are going to have a holiday. The teacher always tells us solemnly: When strangers talk to you and ask about our factory, don't say anything! At that moment, we all felt like revolutionaries!

But in fact, we don't even know what 724 is made of. We only heard that it was made of shells. We just want to leak, and we don't know how!

One more thing, it was really scary at that time.

1983 A series of robbery and murder cases of "Two Kings" shocked the whole country. The "two kings" are two brothers, both employees of the 724 factory. My brother is said to be a school gunner. This incident really frightened us first-grade children, afraid of meeting them and being targeted.

3. Walk on the hospital fence to practice bravery.

The largest hospital in 724 is called 157 Hospital, and now it is the Second Hospital. When we were young, the wall of 157 hospital was on the east side of a road leading to the main entrance, not too far from my home. The fence is not high, so I often climb with some students who live close to me and walk on it to practice my courage! In fact, the fence is quite short and wide, so you don't have to worry about falling down when you walk on it. But if you look inside the fence, you can see the mortuary of 157. We have also seen iron coffins placed outside (in fact, we don't know if they are coffins). We will deliberately choose the fence of the morgue to walk, and when we walk, we will look inside, which is the feeling of rustling, which is very exciting.

4. Memories of "the second floor"

When I was a child, I lived in many dormitories, and each dormitory was divided into three buildings: front, middle and back. Shenyang dialect dormitory is called Xu (Sansheng) dormitory, and my family lives in 12 Xu (Sansheng) dormitory and the back building. Factory 724 was originally built by Japanese invaders and later nationalized. These dormitories were converted from the barracks of Japanese soldiers at that time. On the second floor, there are thirty or forty houses on each floor. Later, each house was connected with a large block in the north, and a small room in the middle was connected with a kitchen in the north. In this way, every household in the dormitory lived in a house with candied haws. From south to north, there are big houses, small houses and kitchens with a total area of about 30 square meters. On the second floor, outside each house, there is an outdoor corridor connecting the stairs on both sides of the building. There is a railing half a person high in the north of the corridor. Each family will also erect two iron bars at both ends of their own railings. The rope is tied between bars to dry clothes.

I was much better than my brother when I was a child. The two things I took him to do were extremely thrilling. First thing: I always lead my brother to open the door, step on the door, go to the room, and the two of them run to the roof! Originally, our parents didn't witness our "feat", but as soon as we stepped on it, the door sank a little. As a result, the lock nose on the door does not match that on the door frame, and the padlock is very laborious. My dad knew it at a glance, and he confessed after three questions, which made you and my parents angry and scared. We are forbidden to set foot in the door again. One day, my parents chatted and said that the beans hanging on the roof were dry. As soon as I heard it, I quickly said, "I'll get it!" The second adventure I took was to lead my brother to climb the railing outside the door and walk on the railing with a clothesline in his hand! When you meet an iron bar, skillfully bypass it. Of course, we also played this game when our parents were not at home. We thought it would be unknown, but one day my mother came home from work and "ruthlessly" exposed our trick.

It turns out that my mother and my colleague in the office, my aunt Gao, live in the building in front of my house. One day, Aunt Gao's old woman suddenly looked up and saw two children walking a tightrope in the opposite building. Looking closely, she recognized me and my brother. The old lady was scared to shout, but she was afraid to shout. She is afraid that if she shouts loudly, we will fall downstairs again. It is easy to see that we have stopped playing. Only when we jump off the railing safely can our hearts be put back in our stomachs. The old lady quickly told my aunt Gao to tell my mother that she would teach us a lesson. ...

These dormitories in 724 have a history of 70 or 80 years. Before returning to 724, I would like to go back to the back building of my dormitory 12, take a walk on the mottled stairs outside the building, and look at No.55 where my family once lived. Two years ago, the dormitory was bought by a big real estate developer. Now those dorms seem to have been demolished. It is estimated that a new building will be built in spring. ...

Wujiafen also has the Second Artillery Building.

In the northeast of 724 community, there is a large field, which is also very close to my home. That land is called Wujiafen. When I was young, a dozen or twenty children in the same building always invited us to play in Wujiafen, where there were rice fields and vegetable fields with "radishes" and radishes. We sometimes "steal" a pimple while people are unprepared and give it to our chicken-raising friends at home. His family will chop the pimples into white and feed them to the chickens.

But this is not our main purpose, we mainly go to "everyday". This is a purple-black, round small wild fruit, sweet and sour, but it is particularly easy to go bad. We often grab a tea urn and take it home. We didn't eat the day before, but all faded the next day, and we could hardly eat any more. Although "Tian Tian Er" is delicious, it often grows with a kind of weed with small thorns on its stem. Every time I pull "Tiantianer", there will always be a lot of blood on my calf.

A little further, you can see the Second Artillery Building. It is said that it was also built when the Japanese invaded China. We often climb into the gun tower to play.

A few years ago, I went to Wujiafen again. The fields are much less, but a lot of rubbish is piled up. The feeling of the urban-rural fringe is very strong, without the pastoral style of childhood.

In recent years, 724 has also built many commercial houses. With the expansion of the city, this place, which used to be the northeast suburb of the city, is also connected with the main city, known as the East Lake plot, and the house price is slowly rising. Because my father lives in my home, I seldom reply to 724, and I hardly say "our factory, our factory" ...
