Wuhan is a central city. Why can't college students stay and develop locally?
This kind of pressure and hesitation are hovering over the city in late autumn and also in the hearts of every college student.
We selected the top ten universities in the list of "Best Universities in Soft Science in China in 20 19", and sorted out the employment choices of graduates of these universities in 20 18 and the employment destinations of millions of fresh graduates in Wuhan every year.
Judging from the data performance, Guangdong has the largest number of fresh graduates every year. Why do countless fresh graduates choose Guangdong as a development city every year?
Looking at the employment reports of ten colleges and universities, it is not surprising to find that graduates are either willing to stay in the provinces and cities where the colleges and universities are located or willing to go to the surrounding developed provinces and cities.
This phenomenon is particularly obvious in Shanghai and Guangdong. The proportion of graduates from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University and Sun Yat-sen University staying in local employment is over 70%. The proportion of Zhejiang University also reached 59.69%.
In addition to retaining the most local graduates, Shanghai has also become a big winner in "harvesting" students from the Yangtze River Delta. Graduates from Zhejiang University, Nanjing University and University of Science and Technology of China prefer to stay in the local area, followed by those who are most keen on going to Shanghai. Among them, 22.2% of Chinese University of Science and Technology graduates went to Shanghai, which exceeded the proportion of staying in Anhui (2 1.8%).
In Tsinghua and Peking University, only about 40% of the 20 18 graduates stayed in Beijing for employment. Of course, this is still the most visited area, followed by Guangdong.
In the undergraduate category, the proportion of graduates from the two universities who go to Guangdong exceeds the proportion who stay in Beijing. However, it is worth pointing out that the number of graduates from Tsinghua and Peking University who choose to directly sign up for tripartite employment is very small, with 202 and 1 and 4 1 respectively. Master's and doctoral graduates are the main force of employment, and those who stay in Beijing still have a big advantage.
In addition to the laws of "local" and "nearby", Beijing, Guangdong (there are two first-tier cities, Guangzhou and Shenzhen) and Shanghai will all be in the forefront of the areas where graduates go the most. Judging from the current development stage of China, numerous job opportunities and high salaries are still the biggest attraction for talents in a region.
Why can't Wuhan keep college students?
Wuhan, the city with the largest number of college students in China, is regarded as a new first-tier city with unlimited potential, and it is also facing the dilemma of "not retaining college students".
The employment quality report of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 20 18 shows that Guangdong (26.74%), Hubei (25.56%) and Shanghai (10.05%) have the largest number of undergraduates. The relevant data of graduate students are not specifically disclosed, but it is generally pointed out that the employment areas of graduate students are concentrated in the eastern and central regions. Among them, Guangdong, Shanghai, Beijing and Zhejiang are the main areas in the eastern region, and Hubei is the main area in the central region.
In terms of educational resources, there are 7 universities in Wu Hanyou, 2 1 1. Statistics show that there were 0/38,000 graduate students in 2065, 438+08 in 2008 and 969,000 college students.
This city, with millions of college students, has been worried about not keeping young people.
From 20 17, Wuhan began to implement the project of "Millions of College Students Coming to China for Study, Employment and Entrepreneurship", hoping to leave more talents.
However, judging from the statistical caliber of employment reports in various provinces, the problem may be more "why can't Hubei retain college students". Apart from Wuhan, there are almost no other cities in Hubei to sell. In 20 18, the GDP of Wuhan was 1.48 trillion yuan, while the GDP of Xiangyang, which ranked second, was only 430.98 billion yuan.
Another new first-tier city rich in higher education resources is Nanjing. In 20 18, there were 72160,000 students and 654,380+030,000 graduate students in Nanjing. In the same year, Nanjing's GDP was 1.28 trillion yuan, which was lower than that of Wuhan and ranked second only to Jiangsu. Suzhou's GDP was 1.85 trillion yuan, and Wuxi, Nantong, Changzhou, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Yancheng and Taizhou in the province exceeded 500 billion yuan.
Go to Guangdong and go to Guangdong enterprises!
Taking Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan University as examples, why do Wuhan college students choose Guangdong more than Beijing, which is close to the distance, or the Yangtze River Delta?
First of all, it is related to students. As the "leading" city of higher education in the central region, Wuhan attracts many students from this region. According to the situation of colleges and universities in Guangdong, there are only four colleges and universities with a ratio of 2 1 1. Jiangsu Province, which has the smallest economic gap with Guangdong Province, has a ratio of 1 1, and Beijing and Shanghai have 26 and 10 respectively.
Compared with its economic strength, Guangdong may be called a "depression" for college students, and it has formed a "supply-demand docking" with the resources of millions of college students in Wuhan to some extent.
On the other hand, many universities and science and engineering majors in Wuhan just match the electronic information and various manufacturing industries in Guangdong.
Why is the attraction of Guangdong rising? Of course, first of all, large enterprises in Guangdong are favored by graduates.
An interesting phenomenon is that among the top 10 universities in China, Huawei, a Guangdong enterprise, has the most graduates. The eight schools are Tsinghua, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, China University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University and Harbin Institute of Technology. Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Sun Yat-sen University did not disclose complete and specific data.
Among 10 universities, Huawei has the largest number of recruits in Zhejiang University, reaching 444. Netease, Zhejiang University, State Grid, Hikvision and Alibaba, which rank second to sixth in Zhejiang University, have only 563 recruits.
In addition to Huawei, other Guangdong enterprises also performed well. In 2065, 438+08, among the units (non-medical) of Shanghai Jiaotong University 10 or above, the top six were Huawei, SAIC, Tencent, China Merchants Bank, Shanghai Jiaotong University and ZTE respectively, and enterprises headquartered in Guangdong occupied 4 seats.
